I want to be the first Christian American to wish Obama my best. He will need our prayers in the coming years, as will all those in public office.

Instead of being "bummed out" [which I was at first] let's remember what Jesus said when it came to Caesar. We were to pray for our leaders, and render unto them that which is mandated of us.

And I will do just that [pray]; even if I don't like this particular leader; he will have my prayerful support. Because America can't make it without the prayers of the faithful.

Will you JOIN me in making prayer for this nation and its leaders your top priority during the coming days?

    Shalom,

    Pastor Paul Zimmer :type:

You are dead right here. We need to pray that God would give him wisdom and draw the president to Himself.

    Excellent post!

I will join you R2, for the President and all the others in elected office. I want to do a better job of this now than I did last time. Thank you for the encouragement.

Yep, I'm praying that his treasonous acts of abandoning 4 Americans that were being attacked by terrorists and subsequently killed, will actually be dealt with, and the cover up will be exposed and he will be impeached. Thanks for asking.

Do we, as God's people, really have a choice??!!??

"I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authoriy; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;" ---- I Timothy 2:1-3 (KJV)

Well, in a sense, I guess you could say that we DO have a choice: To either obey what God the Holy Spirit moved the Apostle Paul to pen these words OR NOT!!!

Keep in mind that when Paul wrote these words to Timothy, the "king" to which he referred here was Roman Emperor Nero, who was not exactly a very good friend to people who identified themselves as Christians, now was he??!!??

I, for one, appreciate your spirit RD2. Maybe God will give America the leader Christians want once they learn to honour, respect, and pray for the one they have now.

I am in total agreement with this. It is the correct biblical attitude. I will pray for President Obama and all of our leaders.

That was one of my first thoughts last night when it was announced that God has kept Obama in the Whitehouse.

As to the OP and poll....absolutely. I was convicted of my failure on this during the last election. I include the occasional fast too.

    AMEN!!!

And continue to pray for his salvation if he doesn't know Christ. And continue to pray for Mitt Romney's salvation because we know he doesn't know Christ.

    "If.. we know... "

    BUT WE DON'T!

Mitt may know Christ in spite of being a Mormon, and the President may know Christ in spite of being whatever he is. We don't know.

    .

If you know anything of Mormonism, you know that Mitt Romney does not know the Jesus Christ of the Bible. And folks need to stop authoring confusion about it. He's a leader in the Mormon Church following the tenets of the faith.

You might as well be saying that we don't know if Ahmadinejad knows Christ.

You may not know. But folks who know the gods they worship in accordance with the faiths they say they follow know they aren't worshiping Christ.

Sir, you are not omniscient, are you? If not, then I respectfully submit that you do not know who is saved or lost, either.

I know who is worshiping the Jesus Christ of the Bible or not based upon the testimony of the faith to which they adhere.

So if you choose to not pray for Romney's salvation or that of the President, don't. I will.:wavey:

Where did I ever say that?

    Oh, right- I didn't.

Putting words into other's mouths, I believe, is called lying.
