What will Obama do with his second term?

What message did Obama get from the voters?

Did the voters authorize continued spending and borrowing?

Did the voters authorize increased numbers on social security disability instead of jobs?

Did the voters give the green light for gay marriage?

Did the voters give the green light for federal funded abortion on demand?

Did the voters say that higher and higher gas prices are acceptable in the name of green energy?

Did the voters authorize Obama killing people throughout the world by drones - even if they are U.S. citizens?

Did the voters authorize Obama forcing churches to violate their religious beliefs in the name of health care?

What is Obama taking as his mandate from the election?

Yep to all of the above. Obama will move even more to the left and continue regulating through his agencies instead of going to a divided Congress. And Congress will continue to demonstrate they are nothing more than potted plants.

We were on the road to socialism. Our nation committed suicide in 2008. Now the body is embalmed and buried. America has just moved to the dust bin of history.

Well I'm not nearly as worried about the spectre of national demise as others, but I'll say this...

The President needs to probably begin to rally his advisors for the looming House investigation of the intelligence failures that resulted in an American Ambassador being murdered and an embassy being sacked.

That might take up a bunch of his time.

Hopefully address the deficit and national debt problem.

You can fool a lot of the people some of the time.

No, because exit polls showed that 63% thought that the deficit was too high. It's kind of moot since the Republican controlled House has the purse strings.

No. I must have missed that issue in the debates, TV ads, radio ads, etc.

    Afraid so.

    No.

No. Voters are savvy enough to know that the President's influence on oil prices is minimal.

No. I must have missed that issue in the debates, TV ads, radio ads, etc.

That's an interesting question. Exit polls of Obama voters showed that 49% were in favor of repealing ObamaCare. My take on it is if people were to hear their choice phrased as you have it, they would say no. Just goes to show, You can fool a lot of the people some of the time.

Good heavens, no. There is no mandate. Furthermore, he didn't run on anything except increasing taxes on the wealthy and increasing spending on hiring teachers. Neither will happen with the Republican controlled House. And I expect the mid-terms to be a repeat of 2010, with the Dems losing control of the Senate.

The most immediate issue in the coming weeks is what to do about the Bush tax cuts that expire 12/31/2012. Will be interesting. Obama wants them to expire on those making more than $200,000. The House will not budge. However, I think they should to a certain extent. Here is the compromise:

    1) Let the tax cuts expire on those making more than $1 million a year (make it $1 million for singles and $1.5 million for married).

    2) Make the tax cuts permanent on everyone else. Permanent - no more punting the ball 2 years down the road.

    3) Enact serious, permanent AMT (Alternative Minimum Tax) relief.

    4) Reduce the corporate tax rate (which Obama says he favors).

    5) Extend the 2% FICA tax reduction for 2 more years.

I think that is a realistic, fair compromise.

Obama has no intention of compromising. His ego won't allow it.

Agree with everything you say, except #5. Phase that in over two years, thusly:

    Current rate: 4.2%
    2013: 5.2%
2014: 6.2% (back at the rate where is was before adjustment)

He's compromised in the past on keeping the Bush tax cuts.

Obama's made things very tough for himself this time around.

What will Obama do with his second term?
More of the same, that's what he was elected to do.

What message did Obama get from the voters?
"What, me worry? I'm the man! I'm the greatest! I'm in control!"

Did the voters authorize continued spending and borrowing?
Yep - borrow from the future. Let a future administration worry about it.

Did the voters authorize increased numbers on social security disability instead of jobs?
Yep, that problem's on someone else's watch. Excellent way to keep the unemployment number's down.

Did the voters give the green light for gay marriage?
    In a big way.

Did the voters give the green light for federal funded abortion on demand?
It's an acceptable form of birth control.

Did the voters say that higher and higher gas prices are acceptable in the name of green energy?
Highter gas prices hit the working middle class the hardest - yet it's not considered a tax so he technically feels he's not to blame.
And he'll push Green energy programs [solar and bio-fuels]; they are a great way to funnel govenment money to those that support him.

Did the voters authorize Obama killing people throughout the world by drones - even if they are U.S. citizens?
It's a cost effective way to cut the military budget and still get some BANG for the buck.

Did the voters authorize Obama forcing churches to violate their religious beliefs in the name of health care?
Yes, this one will have to go to the Supreme Court.

What is Obama taking as his mandate from the election?
Obama has been told that the majority of voters like what he's been doing.
He will keep doing what he's been doing - he's a one-act play.
He'll even push the envelope a bit more.

As has been said many times during this election cycle, this is it. This is the last days that Scripture speaks of. Is there anything happening that God's word hasn't said would happen?

Do what you can to Christ honoringly affect those things, but don't lose focus on eternity. None of that stuff is eternal.

    Preach the word.
    Point someone to Christ.

This world and its Godlessness is doing exactly as HE said it would.

    Covered.

Obamaphones are the result of the very behavior God speaks of in His word.

3 But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. 2 For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, [a]haters of good, 4 treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these. 2 Tim. 3:1-5

When has this NOT been the condition of the world since the sin of Adam and Eve?

Zaac, are you claiming that Jesus will return before the end of Obama's second term?

    What's Obama's next move?

He will do whatever he wants and can get away with. He has no reason to fear future political ramifications as a second-termer.

I'm not quite so sure this is the case. For the sake of the Democratic party he has to be willing to bend on some issues so that the Dems have at least a fighting chance in '16. I think the Dems in the House and Senate will keep that in mind as well. In 2014, he may well have to deal with both a Rep-led Congress and Senate.

    Time will tell.

Less than 24 hours after winning the election, Obama has indicated he plans to further impoverish Americans by imposing carbon taxes.

Obama is selling it as a way to cut the budget deficit, according to Bloomberg.

    CONTINUE . . .
