The spread between the popular vote and the Electoral College tally -

I am still distressed that not all of the military got to vote and not all of the military votes were counted. Even though the DOD supposedly was to clean things up, at the last minute, reports were that it wasn't.

Also, the way I understand it, the number of EC votes for each state is determined by the Census. However, the Census looks at total population, not legal population, something that IS affecting the outcome of elections, IMO.

Don't know about that, but was speaking of the Electoral College number of delegates.

 

Don't get to excited most of us disagree about giving rights and services to illegals. Get that straight. We love immigrants. We want criminals held accountable.

Thankfully Montana just passed a resolution on Tuesday to deny government services being given to illegals.


The problem with the electoral college is that it goes off the census. That is, the number of people living in each state. It does not adjust to denote between people living in the state legally or illegally. So, people here illegally get a say in who the president is and they are not even citizens.

No and the electoral college should not be tampered with. There have been closer elections and no change was made. There have been elections where a man became president by winning the electoral college but loosing the popular vote. Four men, including George Bush, lost the popular vote but won the electoral college vote .... of course G. Bush had the help of the Supreme Court.

So, no ... no change should be made.

 

I know how the number of electoral votes are determined. That is my point.

Even though illegal aliens cannot legally vote, they are still considered in the overall state population (based on the Census every 10 years), which also determines how many representatives are allotted to the state AND the number of EC delegates.

 

Okay, so which states have extra representation in the House and hence electors due to count illegal aliens?

That doesn't address the illegals question, but even if it did those are mostly GOP seats! Sure you want that to change?

 

I never said I am against the Electoral College.

 

Point is that it looks like GOP does well in states associated with illegal aliens.
