So?? Kudos to him. Shows he is a regular guy who knows how to pump his own gas and that he has feelings.

You mean he looks like a 65 year old man without the TV makeup on when not in front of the TV? Shocking...and news worthy! In other news...rain is wet...

I did not mention this before the election, but did anyone notice that though his face looks younger than 65 the he walked like a man 75 or older? I noticed that about a month before the election and watched carefully after that and that old man walk continued. I am not quite sure what to make of it. I do not know if it is an indication of an underlying health problem or not.

It doesn't matter, CTB, he lost. In fact, America lost. They would have made a great first family. I wish them well. It was a hard fought campaign and a lot of Conservatives have bashed him on the TV rounds, saying all kinds of nasty things. Republicans tend to eat their own. Sick. And Chris Christy, BTW, I always knew he was a RINO.

As for Mitt et al. Pumping his own gas? Big deal. He's worth millions and millions and I'm sure he will be just fine, NOT mooching off of society unlike SOME people.

But me - I'm never planning to vote again. And the Republican Party is dead to me. Mitt & Ann cared for this country and so did I and millions like me. But caring doesn't matter when you aren't Santa Claus giving freebies from the pockets of Big Government. I no longer care. Obama voters will reap what they sowed and drag the rest of this once Great Republic down with them, all of us working people included. The rich will survive no matter what, including the Obamas and their rich snob Hollywood elite friends.

PS: I feel like Chuck Heston at the end of Planet of The Apes, cause that's where this is headed.

    How pathetically sad.
Things do not go the way you want and you throw a hissy fit and take your ball and go home.
Yes that will help solve the problems of our country. :BangHead:

Boy, you couldn't wait to jump on me as prey, I didn't even finish my edit!!!

I no longer care about the problems of our country. You made your bed, you and obama solve them. Over and out.

When we step back, beyond the senseless bickering, and think about it...this is a bit of beauty of the American system. I mean, what other significant country in the history of mankind has a means of leveling the playing field so much? Usually those in leadership, or vying for it, would remain ensconced in their protective, cloistered communities. Here we see an example of how, depending on the outcome of, essentially, one day of voting, a man who lives with the same basic, daily habits as all of us.

I remember from my time in DC how you would run into major political figures around DC doing normal, everyday things (grocery shopping, getting gas, eating some fast food, or any thing else) and you wouldn't even know who they were. Them they get in front of a camera and suddenly everything changes.

We live in a pretty flat world in some respects.

Is there a certain time period we are supposed to wait on here before we respond to a post?
I did not vote for Obama. I was hopeful that Romney would win. But I can be mature enough to recognize that things do not always go the way I want, and I can still work to see things get better in our country.
If you really are over and out, then why continue to post about political stuff on here? If you are really done, then be done.

I'm curious, why is it that anyone who differs in opinion with you suddenly is linked with President Obama and summarily dismissed?

I've seen this pattern around here and am troubled by it.

    Lady Eagle,

I know just how you feel. I really thought that enough Americans were so sick of Obama and his march toward Socialism that they would vote him out. Sadly they did not. Romney got fewer votes than McCain did in 2008. Those who were too lazy to get out and vote Obama out are just as trifling as the ones who voted for him!

But you will vote again Lady Eagle because the one the democrat runs in 2016 will be the same mold as Obama. If I live long enough to vote again it will be only by the Grace of God but if I am alive I will vote against those who are determined to destroy this Republic for which so many have died.

You are probably right about the nature of the Democrat candidate in 2016, although I would not be surprised to see a more moderate one. That is not the question. The question is, are we going to start now searching for a decent nominee to represent the Republican ticket in 2016, or are we going to keep the same pattern of liberal to moderate, big government nominees since Reagan, (ie Bush 1, Dole, Bush 2, McCain and Romney).

I honestly think one of the biggest signs of the state of our nation is watching what people put up with in retail compared to 40 years ago. I believe I posted this in another thread, but a few days ago, I was at a McDonalds picking up lunch for some peers at work. All of the sudden, I see a woman approach the counter with a very angry look. A worker came up to her and asked if he could help. She proceeded to open the bun of a hamburger, screaming the mustard was on the tomato, and not the burger as she had asked. To his credit, he patiently fixed the problem. That is why I have no business with a job dealing with the public. The hamburger would have been on her nose.

The point is we have become so focused on ourselves, and eyes off of the welfare of others and the Lord, we elect leaders with the quality we have now. I honestly think selfishness is the root cause for the reelection of Obama. It has very little to do with left vs right.

I think the threads on survival skills brought the point out very well about how spoiled we are. A great majority of the population has no idea what to do. IMO, if the voters had some of the qualities of decades past, patience, pride in work, sense of accomplishment, a feeling of being responsible for themselves, etc, then Romney would have won.

I think you have identified the problem correctly: We are well on the way to becoming a nation of narcissists! I was thinking earlier that this is possibly one reason people did not get out and vote this year.

A grand daughter worked at Pizza Hut. She told several horror stories of the behavior of customers. One wonders how you find fault with a pizza, it is sort of a mess anyhow.

Then there was the niece who told the story of the lady who came in the restaurant for dinner immediately after attending church. She upbraided the restaurant people for not attending worship service. How is that for "holier than thou" hypocrisy!

Yes, it is quite the phenomena, isn't it? Although to be fair, I didn't see LadyEagle do it just now.

I advocate reverting to the pre-Bush tax rates on the upper 2% and I'm labeled a liberal and an Obama supporter. One poster here claimed I posted numerous things supporting Obama, when in fact I was going for Romney all the way and was quite vocal about it here on BB. People have been pre-programmed to see what they want to see, regardless of what is actually said.

Like others , Romney needs the Lord. We ought ot pray for him, rather than talk politics. If we spent as much time praying for him as we spend replying at forums perhaps he'd be a saved soul by now

False dichotomy. Seek ye first the kingdom doesn't equate to seek only the kingdom all the time. Besides, if what you say is true...why did you join this forum this month?

For what it is worth, I never thought of you as an Obama supporter. I also can see your posts are well thought out even when we do not agree. Some posters on here, both sides, must never research or keep up with events. It is like equating not following the Constitution with a grand world wide conspiracy theory. I am surprised that the Twinkie demise was not attributed to international globalist tycoons.

You may be referring to me since in a post after the election I believe I accused you of such. I humbly apologize! I would not want anyone to insult me in that manner.

I think it is time to let Romney sail into the sunset. He is aware of the Gospel, and is no longer relevent to politics.
