I have said several times on this board that Government cannot create anything- and been ridiculed for it. R.C. Sproul, Jr. says it in a way that I never could:

"Government, however, is a parasitic institution rather than a productive one. That is, the government doesn’t actually produce anything. Everything that it has it first must take from someone else."

For the rest of the story-

And the bigger the government the more it destroys.

I suppose that's the Interstate Freeway system is a complete failure or that European UHC systems cost far more than America's. Oh wait...

I think most people who have owned a business would agree with the premise of this thread.

Thanks for the link. Shows how the feds took over transportation in the same way they took over education. Bribing the states to ignore the Constitution in order to end up with "bridges to nowhere".

Shows, also, how the fed destroys the free enterprize system. Now that they are taking over health care, the high quality of the US medical services is doomed to follow the same path of destruction.

The reason government fails to create anything of value is that there is no standard to meet. They do not have to make a profit to stay in business. Leadership in governmental departments is pathetically inept. Most would be fired as McDonalds managers within a week. Basically, governmental supervisors have no leadership ability, common sense, or people skills. Their job will be there tomorrow whether a profit is made or not.

Schools seem to be a complete waste, as well as utilities, and basic infrastructure. The biggest failure clearly must be the military. Also police forces are just rackets for politicians to line their pockets with the proceeds of traffic tickets.

Levees are also pretty pointless, determining flood planes, the entire NOAA department, as well as fire departments. This on top of the obvious waste that the CDC creates, healing people and curing diseases. We clearly shouldn't have visited the moon or gone into space. Those pesky national parks are just pointless space, probably better off just turning the timber into money, strip mining the mountains, and removing the other pointless things.

Yeah, the government is pretty pointless. We'd all be better off without it.

The point is that all of those things were done, have been done, or can be done by private industry or private individuals at LESS COST and with less interference (taxes, unnecessary laws) from the government.

What's pointless is trying to tell a liberal that there is, indeed a point.
