A new US poll once again highlights the extreme unpopularity of American lawmakers among their constituents but marks a record low in public trust of the nation’s legislative branch with only nine percent voicing a favorable view.

    < snip >

Officials of the institution that conducted the survey emphasized that US lawmakers are even less popular among the public than lice and cockroaches.

    CONTINUE . . .

Average American Voter: "I don't trust Congress. They're incompetent fools. We ought to vote them all out. Except my representative. He/She's doing a good job."

That's roughly the rate of their re-election.

If the public was smart they would mistrust Obama even more. But if they were smart Obama would not be president!

If the public was smart they would understand that government can't be trusted.

Eighty-five percent of Americans do not trust Congress. In other obvious news, the sun will come up in the morning, and it will get dark tonight. Details at ten.

I don't trust congresswomen either. No need to be sexist.

When's the last time any of you all have written them to let them know what you want? Even if you voted against them and don't like them?

I do so fairly often. Most recently last week. They do not listen and I do vote against them.

Good for you! With email at our fingertips there's no reason NOT to contact them on a regular basis. I've emailed both my senators and my rep today.

Yesterday. They don't care what we want. They only care about what their campaign contributors (bankers and corporations) want. They know we'll go right on voting for them no matter how much we complain about them. And now that they have easily hackable e voting machines they don't even need our votes. I still say that if voting made any difference at all it would be outlawed.
