This is the link to the communists party agenda. I challenge anyone to show me which parts of this that Obama, Pelosi, and Reid do not support.

I have argued for the last 6 years or so that Obama and most of the democrat leadership are Marxist oriented so this is nothing new!

For starters the Communist Party USA despite its name is no longer communist in the sense of advocating violent revolution and is instead a democratic socialist party. Even then they support Obama because he is the lesser evil much as some ultra-conservatives supported Romney despite their disappointment at the fact he wouldn't call for the abolishment of the Income Tax or for interning Moslems in prison camps.

The fundamental difference is that the Communist Party USA wants to eventually replace the capitalist system with a wholly socialist one, Obama and other Democrats wish to reform the current capitalist system.

    Here's their agenda BTW:

So when does Obama call for example a 200 billion dollar reparation fund for "oppressed" minorities or for the complete abolishment of the tax burden for the middle class and the working class or the breakup of the current media corporation? There are some commonalities here with Obama's platform certainly but most of them are so vague, that a large fraction of Republicans would even agree with them. In concrete policy they are utterly different.

And for six years you have shown that you are very ignorant about Marxism. I doubt you have ever read Marx, Engels or any other writing of Communistic philosophy. Likewise you seem to have no idea of the philosophy of socialism.

Like General Mung Beans showed, Obama has not advocated any of the Communist philosophy.

The president has shown no interest in freeing himself from 'monopoly interests.' Like all politicians he loves their money.

Seems like President Bush also liked a policy of 'pre-emptive' strikes. Maybe he was a communist as well?

    I like this one - maybe I am a communist after all - Full restoration and expansion of the Bill of Rights and all democratic rights; the complete separation of church and state;

One of the fallacies of today. Just because the communist party has changed does not mean they are not the communist party.

You cannot reform capitalism. It is what it is.

    Here's their agenda BTW:

While the figure is never mentioned it is being done on a regular basis through affirmative action.

It is clear he is wanting the US to move in that direction by fighting tooth and nail to only tax the rich.

You only posted a very small snippet of the over all agenda. There are more than commonalities.

    Crabtownboy & General Mung Beans...

Thanks for your well-written, reasoned posts. Quite refreshing among all of the invective language tossed around so carelessly to try to demean others. Cries of "Communist" and using the word "liberal" as if that ends the discussion without having to back up what one says, is not debate. Some of these old neo-McCarthyists still find a commie under every bed. Their anachronistic views are the last hurrah for a dying group of fear mongers.

Amazing that mitch just doesn't get it. He makes a foolish OP, you and others debunk it and he just goes on like no one posted at all. How ignorant!

We no longer have a capitalist system in the USA. It isn't communist either.

What do you get when you combine transnational monopoly business and government? Global corporatism, or global corporate fascism.

The international banks and corporations have seized our government, both parties. Obama is just their most recent water boy. The Bushies and Clintons carried water for them too.

Obama, Bush and Clinton are all controlled by the same banking and corporate interests. They are all just puppets on a stage and their real job is to keep you all divided and arguing endlessly amongst yourselves while the real rulers set up global government and to witness you all going after each other day in and day out while the country sinks deeper into the sewer just shows how well they are doing their job.

It is if they have changed to the point they've abandoned the distinctive marks of communism, which they have by abandoing advocacy of violent revolution.

As long as certain fundamentals of the capitalist system remain, it is capitalist or are you saying anything besides non-laissez faire capitalism is not capitalist?

I don't support affirmative action but it is not comparable to a reparation fund.

Obama didn't oppose rescinding the payroll tax cuts for example, and he has tried to moderate the increase in estate taxes which generally favour the wealthy.

Most of the rest were various ideological statements rather than their political agenda.

"I personally would want to see our tragic history, or the tragic elements of our history, acknowledged. I consistently believe that when it comes to whether it's Native Americans or African-American issues or reparations, the most important thing for the U.S. government to do is not just offer words, but offer deeds."

    ---Barack Obama

His supporters EXPECT reparations out of him.

But his blood sucking supporters want CASH. Obama is offering government services and programs. Not much difference as far as I can see.

Ignoring the small steps to get to the bigger steps does nothing to disprove the reality.

I think this is a critically important point. The capacity of the world's mega corporations to distort and exploit national economies is a much bigger problem than a few percentage points of personal income taxation.

Redistribution of capital is clearly a socialist agenda, but government intervention to prevent monopolisation of capital must equally been seen as a capitalist agenda.

In some says the multinational corporations have become de facto governments. Their influence is enormous and since the SC decision that corporations are individuals the real individuals, you and me, have become virtually unimportant. Politicians now own their elections and souls to corporations and special interest groups.

I do not see the prevention of monopolies as part of the Capitalist agenda. If anything, Capitalism has no stance on the issue other than "the fittest survive" and drive others out of business by fair or foul means. The Robber Baron era in the USA demonstrates this quite clearly.
