My husband's father passed away tonight

    Please keep my husband and his mom in prayer. His father passed away after a very quick fight with cancer (9 weeks from diagnosis to death) tonight. Fortunately, he was able to be with him much of the afternoon and he found out that he passed away right after he walked in the door from traveling home from their house.

    His father knew the Lord so we don't weep as one without any hope but it still hurts. His father was healthy until about a week before Thanksgiving and he experienced very little pain with this cancer. What a blessing that was! He was tired today so told Bob to go to his meeting (a chamber of commerce meeting - he never did make it) and he went to sleep. He died in his sleep! That was our prayer!!

    Praying for your family and especially your husband. I know that losing a father is hard on all the family but can be especially difficult on a son.

    So sorry to hear of your father-in-law passing away.
    We will be praying for your husband and his mother at this time!
    May God comfort them both at this time! They both have the
    assurance of knowing that they will spend eternity with him!

    Thank you so much!!

    His burial was yesterday and it was just our immediate family. Very sweet. We then had lunch at the place where my MIL lives (retirement community) with their pastor as well. It was lovely.

    We will be having the memorial service on Sunday. My husband will be sharing about his father and their pastor will give the message. Hubby and pastor have planned it out where the Gospel will be clearly preached and we pray that hearts will be opened for the Lord. :)

    Thanks all! The memorial service is Sunday afternoon. Please pray against this next snow storm that is due to come in Saturday night into Sunday morning!! We don't want to cancel church a second week in a row - and possibly miss my FIL's memorial service!
