California Redefines 'Doctors' to Compensate for Obamacare Shortages

As a result of Obamacare and its expansion of coverage to millions, many states will begin to experience doctor shortages. California is dealing with this problem by redefining who is a “doctor.”

State lawmakers are working on legislation that would permit physician assistants and nurse practitioners to set up independent practices. Pharmacists and optometrists could now act as “primary care” providers.

The Chickens are Coming Home to Roost!

Every lie that Obama has made is slowly, but surely going to catch up to him and bite him on the buttocks! This is the only way the Obama groupies will ever come to "See the Light!" :applause:

I guess the guy down at Joe's garage will be in line next as one of our doctors!

Supposing that guy down at Joe's garage makes an error in your health treatment, will he have enough medical malpractice insurance to cover the expenses of some California trial lawyer? Or will Obamacare do away with malpractice suits on the notion that you can't sue the government just because they made you medically worse?

I don't know about that, this situation is probably a case of "The Emporer's New Clothes".

The Veterans Hospitals are a special category designed to provide a level of care that civilian hospitals could not provide. One infers that they are subject to lawsuits for malpractice. But I am wondering when California and the rest of the nation lower the standards for medical providers if those people such as Joe in the garage can be sued for malpractice and how is the insurance going to be paid for. One assumes that in the case of the VA that the taxpayer has to pay any settlement. So maybe malpractice insurance will now be paid for by the government under the new socialized system. I have my fingers crossed that they will find a cure for hypochondria now that people will be able to get all of the medical attention that they want at taxpayer expense.
