Thread closings

    Maybe there's something I don't know or not getting, but why so many thread closings in the Baptist section. Did someone do something wrong?

    I can't speak for the moderators, but I believe two threads were closed because they were started by a troll, who was kicked off as well. I won't repeat what he did as I don't want to get it started back up again. It appears others were closed because they were reduced to petty bickering that was not edifying to anyone. This is my opinon, so don't quote me. Oh, and I think some are closed after they reach the maximum number of pages allowed, although some are allowed to go over, I believe. Once again, my opinion.

    Thomas, though i'm not sure to which threads you are referring they do tend to close them shortly after they reach 10 pages.

    You're right - 10 pages is typical "closing" (no one goes back and reads all the posts; often the main point is obscurred by so many posts - so we ask all moderators on the Debate forums to close threads over 10 pages. Some threads are very active, but I've not found any that over 10 pages were actually shedding "light" on the op. "Heat" more often, critizing or countering previous posters, not the main issue.

    And we've banned a couple trolls and closed topics. Coming on here to spew hate or venom is not what the BB has historically been about. (We get enough hate just in normal every-day use)
