So this author is making the case for preachers being rascals now. Heaven then is a duller place for the absence of Lucifer. He loves it when everybody acts like naughty kids! Absurdity is his stock & trade!

I have no clue where you got the idea that heaven is duller because Satan is not there from this or anything that either the originator of the quote or the blogger said. His point was that in a preachers message he ought to be taking away their 'daily dose of religion' and start them with the gospel of the cross.

SO often I hear the same happy feeling, you're wonderful, love everyone kind of sentiment from those who claim to be preachers of the Word. They don't challenge the very heart of their congregation - to be radical in their walk with the Lord. To go outside our comfort zone and live wholeheartedly for the Lord! At our ladies' group last night, we read the 4th chapter of Crazy Love by Francis Chan and I have to say that it was so convicting. He spoke of "lukewarm" Christians and man, I could identify with more of those points than I care to admit. A pastor needs to communicate the truth of Scripture so much that the congregation feels uncomfortable. Not a bad uncomfortable but like sitting in a lounge chair sipping a cup of iced tea with mint and some finger sandwiches - and seeing a dirty child picking through the garbage for a touch of food, we should be made uncomfortable in our complacency in light of the cross.

Then do that honestly & forthrightly from the pulpit. with your elders & deacons, with your staff, with your congregation. As Jesus would.

Be both Pastor & Prophet. A Pastor shouldn't be a naughty child.....naughty implies devious.
