Senators near a deal on background checks for most private gun sales

    By Ed O’Keefe,

A bipartisan group of senators is on the verge of a deal that would expand background checks to all private firearms sales with limited exemptions, but significant disagreements remain on the issue of keeping records of private gun sales, according to aides familiar with the talks.

Are you afraid you couldn't pass a background check?

You may want to reread the op. The issue is not background checks. It is keeping records

    Dumb question.

It's nobody's business who I sell or trade firearms with.

It'll be a situtation of "catch me if you can".

I will not register my firearms in any way. I do not require the governments permission to own them or do with them whatever I want.

I won't be the only one.

When you purchase a gun new it is registered to you, right? Do you have a problem with that?

    No, not right.

That currently is against the law.
