There is something rotten in Washington and I am not talking about the Debt Crisis.

It has been almost six months since an ambassador and 3 other Americans were assassinated in Libya. During that time the survivors of the terrorist attack in Benghazi have been kept away from public view or questioning by the Media or by Congress. WHY? In order for this to happen it requires the acquiescence of Obama, the State Department, the Defense Department, the FBI, the CIA, the Media, and the inability or unwillingness of Congress to perform its oversight function. There is indeed something rotten in Washington.

It is. With so much going on we sometimes loose track. There is a story about the Benghazi affair that must be answered. If the truth had been known before the election it is just possible people would realized that Obama is a bad man for the job! Who knows?

"Who knows" is not an acceptable reason for pursuing this. I normally agree you on 90-98% of things; on this one, you're correct that there is some weirdness going on with the "quietness" around the affair. It's too late to tie it to the election--unless it can be shown that the situation was mis-handled and subsequently "toned down" in direct support of election efforts. If so--and it will be nearly impossible to actually prove a connection--then further queries need to be conducted about possible criminal liability in the matter. But, like Zaac said, the election's over--and frankly, people who voted for O probably wouldn't have been swayed a different direction anyway.

I believe your mistake here is assuming that the majority of Americans are interested in pursing Benghazi. This story has lost its legs and will not cause the damage to the Obama administration you are hoping for.

Crazy Barry's entire cabinet staff are incompetents....so is he for that matter. My point is that most intelligent people know that....but he was still elected. Why, because most intelligent people dont have to live on the dole.....the rest well, are looking for free phones & Obama money.

When Nixon lied (Watergate) no one died - yet that incident toppled his presidency.

and no, I am not trying to justify what Nixon did.

I'm just saying that the media should have some consistency especially when it comes to national security.

I'm not talking about what you or anyone else thinks, this is what I think will happen.

BTW, if Hillary Clinton is nominated as president, I plan to vote for her.

News today. Kerry talked to one of the survivors a month ago but Kerry is mum!

The stench over the Benghazi coverup is getting worse and worse. Watergate really is trivial compared to Benghazi. In Watergate Nixon and a few in the White House were involved, In Benghazi it looks like Obama, the Sec's of State and Defense, the FBI, the CIA, and perhaps assorted Congressmen were possibly involved.

Well of course it must be a conspiracy!

Isn't it more likely that both the State Department and CIA have repeatedly privately questioned these people? And that these people have retained lawyers that are advising them not to speak to the media?

    It only takes two!

That is entirely possible but why would these people need lawyers? Do they need protection from the government. They did nothing wrong. It is they who were left behind by Obama! And of course the entire affair is being treated as a criminal matter not an act of terrorists.

Also, if these people were interrogated by the CIA or State Dept. or FBI then why has Congress not brought these people, the interrogators, before a committee. The stench is bad.

The democrats will never nominate Hillary. Her testimony before Congress killed whatever chance she had. That little episode with Sen> Johnson: "What difference does it make" was the final nail.

But there will be some other leftist available who is eager to create a Marxist state.

It's probably wise to have a lawyer in cases like this. Besides, I'm certain there are confidentiality agreements in place preventing them from speaking to the media.

They were lower level diplomatic aides that probably didn't know much to begin with. And I believe Congress has access to transcripts of the interrogations if they wanted to see it. Why hold a public hearing so our enemies can get inside info on how our diplomatic outposts operate?

OR, you're absolutely wrong. If Hillary were nominated today, I can guarantee you she would beat any Republican put up against.

Not saying that because I support her; I don't. It's a fact that of any Democrat that could be nominated right now, she's got the name recognition and the popularity of her husband's terms in office to help her out. In fact, the only democrat I can think of that could challenge her is her husband. If he ran, I would not be surprised to see him win by a true landslide.

The Republican who could challenge either of them is ....

    Well ....

And you have to realize: I typically vote Independent or Republican. I voted for Romney, and I wouldn't vote for either of the Clintons. But the Republicans have to do something about their image, and they have to get chummy with the voters, or we'll continue to have Democrats as presidents until the current "generation" dies off (because there aren't any young democrats that have the popularity factor that Obama, the Clintons, etc. have).

    Agreed....

....and it's not only Benghazi. It's Fort Hood [and why this murdering radical Muslim has not been to trial, as well as why the US Attorney has all but forgotten that unborn life]? It's the nagging question as to how we will REALLY pay for Obamacare? It's the question as to why this administration, and the last four administrations have not enforced our border laws [like Reagan promised we'd do if he could give amnesty to those "other" illegal aliens], and sent 12 million people back to Asia, Europe, Mexico and South America? It's about how this will nation pay for the government services these 12 million new citizens will need once they've been allowed to "cheat" their way to the front of the line and become citizens?

There're a lot of stenches coming out of the DC area, and no one has the guts of stamina or patriotism to do what should be done in order to re-establish the great ness to this nation.

Yeah, something stinks, "Oldtimer" and all the Fabreeze in the world will not cover over the smell off wrong-doing that is being done by the name of politics and "business as usual!"

The stench you smell blowing, in all directions away from DC, is that of a well involved, decomposing corpse, rotten and decayed to the point of putrid deterioration! And when a body is at that point of decomp, it is beyond any hope of revival or restoration; sort of like the politicians who have led us down this path. :tear:

It is past time to bury the corpse, hold the funeral and move on down the road in the in the direction of a new and better life without that "Albatross" slowing us down! :type:
