Some people are kind, polite, and sweet-spirited...until you try to sit in their pews.

And now the question: Do you know anyone like this??? :BangHead:

    Yep!

And, that "pew" doesn't have to be their particular seat in the sanctuary either. ;)

We rent the auditorium at the high school. It'll seat 500 people but we run around 50. It ain't hard to do the math but I figure that's 10 seats to a person. Guess what. Yep. Folks sit in the same seat week after week. I'll give credit where credit is due. They rejoice when someone new - who doesn't understand the unwritten seating arrangement - takes their seat. It's called growth.

Just don't sit in MY seat. I run the computer and if you sit in my seat, it's going to be hard for me to click the next slide!

At least you have a seat. I run the sound system. Where the equipment is positioned, I have to stand. Even the preacher gets to sit during announcements and such. :)

We purposefully sit in unusual places, just for the fun of it. The looks on the faces...priceless. It's a way to meet new people, albeit strange but, always interesting.

We spent a little time in a KJVO-IFB-EVANGELICAL-FUNDAMENTALIST-SEPARATIST (that title seems to require shouting, thus the font, caps and emboldening) "church". Our habit of displacing people there was so much more rewarding than what it is these days (we did self-intervention and escaped that enclave, practically unharmed).

Now that we're Baptites, the fun and antics that ensue from the displacement of location-hardened-regulars are much more subdued. It's still a fun way to kick-off any Sunday morning however, and we still get to meet new people...bad first impression ignored, of course.

In our church, seat assisgment is dictated for each person in our constitution

Not even a stool??? That's horrible! LOL

Actually, at our church, if the sound guy is having to actively mix, he's standing. If it's during the sermon or something, he can sit back and relax a little. When my husband mixes, it's like he's dancing! LOL
