Featured Conceal Carry in Church?

Our church goes further than that. About once a year or so, we bring in a certified instructor to teach the state required class for a concealed carry permits in NC. We also have several members who are police officers and quite a few hunters. Therefore, it's likely that at any church function there'll be one or more concealed weapons present.

 

It is a fact of life at our church. Several that I know about carry concealed weapons. Personally, I do not take one to church as I am not a big fan of guns, but have no problem with others who do. We used to have a loaded shot gun in the house, but now a SW 38 revolver stands ready anytime it is needed.

 

If the "bad guys" carry concealed why not the "good guys"?

Our church has no objection to carrying concealed.

 

Most of our folks bring a Sword.

 

In Missouri, it is legal as long as the Pastor or Senior Elder/Clergy gives permission. Not that I would ever want something terrible to happen during any meeting time, but I have some law enforcement guys and other responsible individuals who are vetted, and I allow them to carry.

 

Given the times we live in today, I believe it is a necessity and we all should have some sort of protection.

If I found out that at my church we have a couple of men..with the pastors aproval.. who are ready to KILL at a moments notice....I would leave imedietly and seek a church where they put thier trust in GOD, rather then Smith and Wesson

Should you work for a living or should you just sit around praying and reading the Bible and "trust God" to feed you and yours.

You insinuate that those who carry do not "trust God" but you fail the same test all of the time.

Trust God and pass the ammunition is what I say!

Is there a difference between trusting in God and laying down your life for Him, in His name; and protecting others from harm?

Didn't George Mueller say something like "pray for a house and trust in God to provide it, but do it with a hammer and nails in your hand"?

If I'm truly trusting in God to provide, then why go to the grocery store?

 

I'll take just a second here, because I was reminded of a sign I saw at the checkout counter of a service station:

"In God we trust. All others pay cash."

Sombody has taken a statement from Luke, or maybe somone else, not sure, and put it into a quote Box of mine. I am sure it is an accident, but could the one who did it please fix it? I'm familiar with a pastor who was armed every time he stepped into the pulpit.

He pastored an inner-city congregation.

 

When I was a child, there was a man in our church who used to carry openly.

This was many years ago.

 

Our church does not allow that, I think it has something to with the state laws. I would like to change that, but it is not possible in foreseeable future. I am a good pistol shooter and probably would be able to act in case something happens. However, using a self-defense weapon is the last thing I ever want to happen.

 

It is better to have it and not need it, than it is to need it and not have it.

I am responsible for the protection of my family and I am prepared- or at least as prepared on my part as I can be.

 

In our church they carry both concealed and openly. Anyone wanting to come into our church with ill on their mind will find it a huge mistake.

 

1. Have you considered that you might just be comforting yourself falsely...that there may ALREADY be some in your congregation like you describe...but who simply haven't told you what they are carrying?

2. What if you found out that a few men, with the pastors approval, are ready, at a moments notice, to protect their women and children, along with everyone else's...what about that situation would make you forsake an assembly of fellow believers?
