We, as the church, are told to rejoice with our brothers and sisters when they are blessed, and to weep and mourn with those who suffer a loss. :tear:

Well, even though much has been said about Rick Warren, in the negative, it is time for the church to mourn and weep with him with the loss of his son, to suicide. :tear:

Let's lay down our differences of opinions and doctrines and theology, and pull together with Rich and his family during this time. :praying:

I posted earlier in the prayer section. It is so sad. I can't imagine the struggles they have had with his mental illness and depression - and now they have to deal with the aftermath. I just can't imagine the pain....

    I Can....

....imagine! As I lost a son through suicide in 1999. The problem was, my ex-wife, always the vengeful woman she chose to be, elected not to notify me of his death for nearly two months.

She said it was because she didn't know how to get hold of me. Those were as much a lie as was her vengeance.

No words can explain how parents feel when their children proceed withthem in death, but when the death comes at the hands of the child, the sorrow and guilt and emotion's continue for years.

I read how Rick's son killed himself [in article], and that is really going weigh heavy on Kay and Rick for years to come.

Our prayers will be the backbone to their days of painful emotions. Thanks!

I was much saddened when I heard the news. He and his family are certainly in my prayers.

Very sad time. My son is Rick's High School Pastor and shared first-hand some of the pain of the family having an autistic, mentally challenged son. This final act of suicide was not a "surprise" as such; but so tragic.

Weep with those who weep this morning

thank god that we have a God who will do the right thing in all situations, and that He will grant His grace to endure this, and will have His peace, peace not as the world gives, peace only He can give!

Yes. And that is a pain NOBODY wants. Only God can heal that kind of hurt.
    Sorry to hear that, RD.
