This is why McCain will never receive a vote from me:

I don't want to know where you stand. You were elected to represent us, and where we stand. The purpose of the United States Senate is to represent the people for the good of the entire country ... or so I thought.

    Republicans out of touch?

Republicans like McCain, yes. The rise of the Tea Party is evidence of that.

Don, the original purpose of senators was to represent the state legislatures which appointed them. To defend States Rights.

Members of the House of Representatives are to represent their district. Period.
Members of the Senate are to represent their state. Period.

All of them -- all 3 branches of the government -- are to represent and uphold the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Agreed. So how does that jive with what McCain said?

Regardless of the specific roles of the House and Senate, they are there to serve we the people. Power flows from us to them, not from them to us.

Basically, the two parties have become one. There is one small part of the Republican party that has at least an appearance of supporting the Constitution and Bill of Rights. It is a given the entire Democratic Party is a lost cause, so there is really no need to discuss it. Since Reagan, the Republican Party has been transformed into a liberal, big government, tax and spend party. The two Bushes, McCain and Romney show the trend quite clearly.

One of the most clear illustrations of the establisment Republicans and those who support the Constitution are the two Senators from Kentucky. First, you have Mitch McConnell, the consumate politician who would sell his soul to a Democrat or the devil himself if it would get him reelected. He has no moral compass. He used every political trick in the book to try and defeat our second Senator in the primary, Rand Paul, a man with a love for the Constitution and moral bearing. Rand Paul won with 58% in the general election.

There is nothing I would like to see more than Mitch McConnell defeated by anyone in 2014. He is nothing but another piece of trash that has taken control of the Republican Party. Him staying in office does this nation no good, and for all the good he has done, it might as well be a liberal Democrat.

But that's obviously not happening. Example over 70% of Americans do not want amnesty for illigals BUT want them deported. John McCain says he knows what's best.....not the 70%. We don't need watered down lukewarm "conservatives" rather the Republican Party needs an enema and get back to real conservatism. Who do you think McCain serves?

First and foremost, like McConnell, I think he serves his own selfish interests. Secondly, he serves those who give him the finances to win political campaigns. Thirdly he serves those groups that he owes a favor. The list of who he does not serve is much longer.
