Salvation for purpose or the purpose?

Salvation is a means to an end, not the end itself.

Christ doesn't save us primarily for our sakes but for the glory of God.

Ephesians 2

4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, Col. 2.13 (by grace ye are saved
6 and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7 that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace, in his kindness toward us, through Christ Jesus.

Why was he rich in mercy toward us?
Why did he quicken us together with Christ?
Why did he make us sit in heavenly places?

That throughout the endless ages he might show the riches of his grace by his having been so kind to us through Jesus Christ.

8 O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.

2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.

3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;

4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
