Erasmus, Westcott and Hort

I think if they had lived in the same time period they would have been good friends,despite the fact that Erasmus was theogically to the left of W&H.

Erasmus would have glady used more ancient and more reliable manuscripts had he had them available. He would have welcomed the advances that W7H had made on the shoulders of many others before them.

Erasmus can be considered the father of what eventually became known as the TR (even though it was "received' by everone). Westcott and Hort were coparable to the fathers of the CT movement;yet all three would have been best buds I do believe.

 

I was specifically referencing Erasmus,Westcott and Hort. But certainly the KJV revisers would have sat down and "broken bread" with the translators of the NASB and NIV.
