Never has there been a period of time where the Catlickers and the Magic Holy Rollers have combined forces on this board. I think they have formed an alliance where from now on Mary appears and speaks the message in tongues. Then, St. Peter appears and interprets the tongues. In another compromise, it is reported that Saturday mass is now Seventh Day Mass.

well, satan and his minions were going full bore against the lord jesus and His Apsotles back then, why would he cease to attack now?

Shows me that some here are having 'heart burn' from the HS conviction going on now!

And is it just me, but are the SDA followers sounding more like those in RCC now?

A bit paranoid are we? There is no conspiracy against Baptist here save in your imagination. There is something you should know about me. Going to a Pentecostal University really jaded me against Pentecostals. So, as far as I'm concerned it would be a long shot for me to collude with Pentecostals about anything. That is not to say I wouldn't eat with them or hold that God is against them. But I wouldn't "join forces" with them against anyone. In fact, I'm not really against anyone rather I'm simply defending my beliefs. But I have to admit the fact that you believe there is conspiracy reveals more about you than it does the subject of your suspicions.

I think you have taken his post to literally and missed the point.

Curious to see Mike's definition of cult? Might be everything but his cult.

What type of Activity? Generally, I defend a position rather than initiate a post citing a position.

You are just going to have to hold on to what you want. I am not going to start explaining 1+1=2 now.

    Cult, biblically ones

have extra revelations, not JUST word of God
    check, both SDA/Charasmatics

have leaders that assume prophetic/Apostolic dimensions
    check

think they have special revelations from God, are the special group
    check

they mix Grace of Gospel with human works of law
    Check

they have a perverted gospel, message of the Cross
    check

    Deny God nature, and ours

SDA does get God nature right, but charasmatic have a different jesus, and Holy Spirit!

basically, they see us as gods, and that God is a cosmic force we use thru words of faith/positive thinking/confession!

    well?

Oh, SDA's have much more in common with Baptists than with Catholics and usually run to attack Catholics with even more vigor than 'fightin fundies' and I have noticed that on this board the real team up over the years has been a joint SDA/Baptist attack.. SDA's use the same kind of argument that they are part of a remnant church trying miserably to link themselves to the Apostolic Church. The fact that there is no historical proof for their theory simply shows to them (and many Baptists) how good the Catholic Church was at persecution and cover-up. Baptist/SDA Successionism can never be disproved because all that is required for their succession to be transmitted was a small group of faithful people somewhere at some time who kept the flame of the true faith alive. The authors of this "history" skim happily over the heretical beliefs of their supposed forefathers in the faith. It is sufficient that all these groups were opposed to, and persecuted by, the Catholics."

Thankfully intellectually honest Baptists, such as James McGoldrick who was once himself a believer in Baptist successionism are conceding that this "trail of blood" view is, frankly, bogus. McGoldrick writes:

'Extensive graduate study and independent investigation of church history has, however, convinced [the author] that the view he once held so dear has not been, and cannot be, verified. On the contrary, surviving primary documents render the successionist view untenable. . . . Although free church groups in ancient and medieval times sometimes promoted doctrines and practices agreeable to modern Baptists, when judged by standards now acknowledged as baptistic, not one of them merits recognition as a Baptist church. Baptists arose in the 17th century in Holland and England. They are Protestants, heirs of the reformers'. (Baptist Successionism: A Crucial Question in Baptist History [1994], 1–2)
