Can someone explain this one to me? I have Googled it but have gotten many different answers and I am confused on the differences between Weslyian and Keswick sanctification. Thanks.. Would it be a truth statement of those holding to this view of sanctification believe in the phrase "Let go and let God?" meaning that sanctification is 100% a work of the Holy Spirit?

belief is that you need to fully yield and submit daily to the HS, ket Him empower you, and stop worrying about keep the law, keeping rules, just focus on Him living in and thru you!

Like pentacostal, but w/o the tongues and gifts!

It is a false view of sanctification in that we are not told to "LET GO".....we are instructed to take heed, to mortify sin, to repent of all sin, to obey, ...not let Go.

MacArthur exposes this view in one of his books. I am gonna double check Stanley's book on the HS to see if he holds to this one.

One nugget of truth to gain from the thought, is to remember that we are not capable of doing any good thing in our flesh-- by ourselves, relying on ourselves. Only be relying on God-- humbling ourselves and obeying His will for our life (as revealed through scripture, and secondarily, through the prompting of the Holy Spirit) can we do any good thing. When we rely on the Lord for our strength-- physical, spiritual, emotional, etc. --then He will guide us through His word and the prompting of the Holy Spirit. But we still have to know and obey Scripture, and He will not guide us to do anything contrary to Scripture.
