Geopolitical History Examined (a little closer)

    Part One.

Tearing down sovereign nations & replacing them with global system administrators.
    by Tony Cartalucci

Part 1: Imperialism is Alive and Well

February 18, 2012 - The British Empire didn't just have a fleet that projected its hegemonic will across the planet, it possessed financial networks to consolidate global economic power, and system administrators to ensure the endless efficient flow of resources from distant lands back to London and into the pockets of England's monied elite. It was a well oiled machine, refined by centuries of experience.

While every schoolchild learns about the British Empire, it seems a common modern-day political malady for adults to believe that reality is organized as their history books were in school - in neat well defined chapters. This leads to the common misconception that the age of imperialism is somehow a closed-chapter in human history. Unfortunately, this is far from the truth. Imperialism did not go extinct. It simply evolved.

    Imperialism is alive & well
    .

There are several pertinent examples illustrating how imperialism is still alive and well, and only cleverly disguised with updated nomenclatures. What we know today as "free trade" actually derives its origins from economic concessions the British frequently extorted from nations under its "gunboat diplomacy" strategy - that is, anchoring gunboats off the coast of a foreign capital, and threatening bombardment and military conquest if certain demands were not met.

In the mid-1800's, Thailand, then the Kingdom of Siam, was surrounded on all sides by colonized nations and in turn was made to concede to the British 1855 Bowring Treaty. See how many of these "gunboat policy" imposed concessions sound like today's "economic liberalization:"

    Smedley Butler on Interventionism

-- Excerpt from a speech delivered in 1933, by Major General Smedley Butler, USMC.

War is just a racket. A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of people. Only a small inside group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few at the expense of the masses. I believe in adequate defense at the coastline and nothing else. If a nation comes over here to fight, then we'll fight. The trouble with America is that when the dollar only earns 6 percent over here, then it gets restless and goes overseas to get 100 percent. Then the flag follows the dollar and the soldiers follow the flag. I wouldn't go to war again as I have done to protect some lousy investment of the bankers. There are only two things we should fight for. One is the defense of our homes and the other is the Bill of Rights. War for any other reason is simply a racket.

    Recent Geopolitical History

April 16, 2013 (IOGSD-Tony Cartalucci) - Huge amounts of US-provided flour smuggled into northern Syria have formed the foundation of Al Qaeda's public relations strategy, the Washington Post and London Telegraph reveal. Together with huge amounts of US-provided weapons, the aid is fueling Al Qaeda's continued operations and atrocities inside Syria.

Recently it was revealed that the US, UK, and France, through Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Turkey, and other regional allies, have been funneling cash and thousands of tons of weapons into Syria - the vast majority of which have ended up in the hands of Al Qaeda's Syrian franchise, Jabhat al-Nusra.

The New York Times in their article titled, "Arms Airlift to Syria Rebels Expands, With C.I.A. Aid," admits that:

With help from the C.I.A., Arab governments and Turkey have sharply increased their military aid to Syria’s opposition fighters in recent months, expanding a secret airlift of arms and equipment for the uprising against President Bashar al-Assad, according to air traffic data, interviews with officials in several countries and the accounts of rebel commanders.

The airlift, which began on a small scale in early 2012 and continued intermittently through last fall, expanded into a steady and much heavier flow late last year, the data shows. It has grown to include more than 160 military cargo flights by Jordanian, Saudi and Qatari military-style cargo planes landing at Esenboga Airport near Ankara, and, to a lesser degree, at other Turkish and Jordanian airports.
While the West attempts to claim these weapons are being sent to "moderates," the US State Department itself admits that Al Qaeda is operating in every major city in Syria, carrying out hundreds of terrorist attacks, and is by far the most highly organized, most prominent militant front in the conflict. If the West via Saudi Arabia and Qatar is sending thousands of tons of weapons to "moderates," who is sending more weapons to Jabhat al-Nusra?

The obvious answer is there are no moderates, and the West has been intentionally arming Al Qaeda from the beginning. In fact, this is a documented conspiracy first revealed as early as 2007 by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh in his New Yorker article titled, ""The Redirection: Is the Administration’s new policy benefiting our enemies in the war on terrorism?" which stated specifically:

Isn't it funny how SN can stalk me in every thread I post in calling me names and telling everyone I know nothing of hiatory but when he's challenged and faces a few fact's he's nowhere to be found?

You watch close now he'll come here and try to make this thread his little soapbox and try to make it all about me instead of dealings with the facts and evidence. That's his MO. Attack distract and smear. That's all he's got.

Isn't it funny that you frequently claim victim status when you are challenged on your positions?

Hmmm. Guess I got it wrong this time folks. I thought SN would be the one to prove me right. Thank you just the same ITL. See what I mean they never want to address the facts and evidence. Whenever they are faced with them they go into attack distract and smear mode.

Isn't it funny how ITL jumped right over the evidence and tried to make it about me?

What does that say about about his position?

Okay fair enough. While you're here would you care to address the documented evidence? To keep things on topic.

    Which Path To Persia

    http://landdestroyer.blogspot.com/2011/02/brookings-which-path-to-persia.html?m=1

While the corporate owned media has the plebeians arguing over whether or not Iran should have nuclear weapons or if it intends to commit genocide against the Jews (the largest population of Jews in the Middle East outside of Israel actually resides in Iran), the debate is already over, and the war has already quietly begun. Before it began, however, someone meticulously meted out the details of how it would unfold. That "someone" is the mega-corporate backed Brookings Institution.

If you're wondering where all the trolls are they're over here http://www.baptistboard.com/showthread.php?t=86253 doing what they do best. Attacking, distracting and smearing.

They don't know what to do when faced with documented facts and evidence. So they run and hide. Lol.

Have I thanked you for being such a big help in proving my point about you and your "friends" lately little buddy?

Mrs Salty said I can play with you - under one condition - if you promise to answer questions that I ask you - is it a deal? :1_grouphug:

That depends. Do you think you can keep your line of questioning on the subject of the thread? Most of the questions you have asked me so far in a number of other threads have all been about me, my motives, my religious beliefs, my agenda, etc., etc.

Personally I doubt you can resist the urge to turn this into another one of your interrogation sessions. Think you can ask questions that aren't about me my beliefs my motives or my agenda?
