Paul’s letter to the Christians in Rome is addressed to …
“the called of Jesus Christ … beloved of God, called to be saints” (Romans 1:6-7)

He says to them,
“we have received grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith” (Romans 1:5)

“The Romans Road” is famous for laying out the Plan of Salvation for Christians.

However, for Christians who are NOT obedient to the faith
“The Romans Road” lays out the Plan of Damnation for Christians!

Paul gives MANY WARNINGS to the Christians in Rome …

Romans 1:
• The righteousness of God is revealed: “The just shall live by faith”
• The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness
and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness
• Knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things
(a long list of sins) are deserving of death

Romans 2:
• You who judge those practicing such things (a long list of sins),
and doing the same, (do you think) that you will escape the judgment of God?
• To those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness
— indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil
For there is no partiality with God.

Romans 6:
• Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not!
• We should no longer be slaves of sin
• Reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin
• Do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts
• Do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin
• Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!
• You are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or …
• Present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness
• The end of those things (practicing sin) is death
• For the wages of sin is death

Romans 8:
• No condemnation to those who walk according to the Spirit
• The righteous requirement of the law is fulfilled by walking according to the Spirit
• To be carnally minded is death
• The carnal mind is enmity against God
• Those who are in the flesh cannot please God
• If you live according to the flesh you will die
• If by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live
• For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God
• We are children of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him

Romans 11:
• Do not be haughty, but fear. For if God did not spare the natural branches (the Jews),
He may not spare you either. Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God:
on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness.
Otherwise you also will be cut off.

“The Romans Road” has a disastrous fork in the road!

The right fork goes to a narrow gate and a difficult way, which leads to Heaven.

The wrong fork goes to a wide gate and a broad way, which leads to Hell.

ALL those adressed in chapters 1-3 in Romans are lost peoples, paul was just showing why each were wtrong in being lost!

Paul had the revealtions from jesus, same jesus who promised NEVER to leave or forsake His own, so paul would NOT teach as you allege him to be doing!

Here we go again with another topic in which it pains me greatly to say ...
I have to repeat the same answer TO YOU over and over again!

Jesus will never forsake (leave, etc.) thou
but ...
thou can forsake (leave, etc.) Jesus!

Razbeerishlee? ... Bulgarian for: Do you understand?
If not, which of these words do you not understand?

Garbage. You can keep saying it, the the converse of an absolute truth statement is not also absolute truth. For a self professed 4 pointer you are sounding arminian.

Not according to Paul.

1. Rom 2:4-16 is being ignored - where we see successful cases.

2. Rom 2:25-29 - specifically shows gentiles in a
successful scenario.

Rom 2:11-16 not only are we given the
Gospel point of future justification - we are actually instructed to notice the case of gentiles - with the new heart - New Covenant promise as they pass that "Gospel judgment" event in the future.

...
Romans 1:14-17 is explicitly referencing the
Gospel condition.

Romans 2:4 the
Gospel condition of the call to repentance.

Romans 2:4-13 the
Gospel result of the perseverance of the saints and the eternal reward - applied explicitly to BOTH Jews and Gentiles.

Romans 2:13-16 the case of Gentiles who are approved in the
future Gospel Judgment.

Romans 2:25-29 the explicit reference to Gentiles - who are born-again,
new hearts, new creations, the work of the Holy Spirit.

The details in Romans 2 that your man made traditions "need to ignore" are much more transparent to the unbiased objective reader than you appear to have imagined.

Rom 2:25-29 specifically speaks to the regenerated - new heart,
new creation work of the Holyl Spirit.

so also does Rom 2:14-16 speak of that work done on the heart of the gentiles.

The "Fiction" that Romans 2 starts with "no need to repent because if you have never sinned then you are going to heaven" is flatly debunked by the opening context of the text that the Gospel "goodness and kindness " of God "
LEADS you to repentance" Rom 2:4.

In the context of
Gospel repentance then we have the "perseverance" of Rom 2:7 -- and eternal life mentioned there.

We have the "
Gospel judgment" of Rom 2:13-16.

we notice (the Romans 2 succeeding examples) "going to heaven" in Rom 2:7, 10 and even approved of in the "Gospel judgment" in Rom 2:13-16 and in fact having their hearts changed - with the manifest fruits of obedience showing it in Rom 2:25-29.

====================

Paul flatly debunks the idea that Romans 1 and 2 are only about issues for lost people.

Romans 1:1-7 begins with the “Gospel of God” vs 1 and the point that the apostles are calling for the obedience of the faith among all the gentiles” vs 5.

It is there that we see that the letter is most certainly directed to gentiles “obedience of faith among all the gentiles for His name’s sake among whom you also are the called of Jesus Christ” vs 5-6

The Letter further points to the intended readers in this way “to ALL who are beloved of God in Rome, called as saints: Grace to you and peace”. Vs 7.

Paul is actually giving thanks in Chapter 1 for the faith of those to whom he is writing “I thank God through Jesus Christ for you all, because your faith is being proclaimed throughout the whole world”

Pretty hard to miss.

Paul in Romans 1 argues for the "obedience of faith".

5 through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles for His name's sake,

Holy Spirit given “to those who obey Him” Acts 5:32
“What will be the outcome to those who do not Obey the Gospel of God” 1Pet 4:17

6
among whom you also are the called of Jesus Christ;
7 to all who are
beloved of God in Rome, called as saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. .

Amazed to find that this is the very chapter where we are sometimes told to imagine that Paul is describing only “failure” and never “success” in the Gospel of Christ.

So then - what about the "Gospel" and the "Saved" also in Romans 2??

The saved in Romans 2 get “Eternal life” vs 7. They are “Justified” in vs 13.
They have the New Covenant promise of the Law written on the heart and mind in vs 15.
They are judged as those being under the “Gospel” in vs 16.
They are circumcised in the heart by the Holy Spirit in vs 29 and found to be a “Jew inwardly”.

Those who turn a blind eye to the "perseverance" examples in Romans 2 and the "good tree" in Matt 7 will see only failure in those chapters. But I see

7 to those who by perseverance in doing good seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life;
10 …glory and honor and peace to everyone who does good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
13 for it is not the hearers of the Law who are just before God, but the doers of the Law will be justified.
15 in that they show the work of the Law written in their hearts
16 on the day when, according to my GOSPEL, God will judge the secrets of men through Christ Jesus.

Remember(11 For there is no partiality with God. )

26 Therefore if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision?
27 And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature,

if it fulfil the law, judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost transgress the law?
28 For he is

not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
29 But he is

a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

I guess those General Baptists had it right after all.

No surprise then that the "Baptist Confession of Faith 1689" sounds a lot like Romans.

in Christ,

Bob

We have the new nature from God in us when born again, have the HS indwelling us...

Will god forsake Himself?

Will God have us turn and forsake Himself?

Wouldn't that mean my Will to leave greater than God power to keep me?

Romans 2 addresses the lost gentile, trying to get right with God apart from Chrsit, just as Romans 3 address self rightous jews!

NOT talking to saved in romans 1-3!
