paul wrote that ONLY some spoke in tongues even in Apostolic times, and notice that helinks the offices of Prophets/Apostles to workers of hrealings/miracles/tongues, so if those have ceased, why would not have tongues?

    1. 1Cor 12 does declare the end of any gifts at all.
    2. 1Cor 14 insists that church members should earnestly seek spiritual gifts - but especially the gift of prophecy.

    3. The point that 1Cor 12 does not make the claim that all saints have all spiritual gifts - is valid because it is actually in the text itself.

    in Christ,

Gift of prophecy in the NT NOT same as office of a prophet, and both ceased after canon closed!

You quote you so often - you must think of yourself as a Bible writer and then imagine that we all do too.

    It is not working.

Thus we take Paul over you-quote-you.

    1. 1Cor 12 does NOT declare the end of any gifts at all.
    2. 1Cor 14 insists that church members should earnestly seek spiritual gifts - but especially the gift of prophecy.

    3. The point that 1Cor 12 does not make the claim that all saints have all spiritual gifts - is valid because it is actually in the text itself. But at no point does Paul say that only Apostles have gifts - and at no point does Paul deny his statement about "EACH one has a teaching, EACH one has a revelation" etc. So in the church of Corinth - they apparently had a lot of spiritual gifts For those inclined to read Paul over you-quote-you
