So now we see where this Jesuit Priest, now Pope, will be coming fromas he reaches out to others in an attempt to rebuild the declining numbers within the Catholic orgainzation.

Pope Francis sent ripples of concern throughout the Catholic and Protestant churches today when he proclaimed that "All who do good, including atheists, are redeemed!"

"Of course, not all Christians believe that those who don't believe will be redeemed, and the Pope's words may spark memories of the deep divisions from the Protestant reformation over the belief in redemption through grace versus redemption through works" reports the Huffington Post article.

What is his definition of "redeemed"? I know mine and his statement is heresy according to my definition of redeemed. But maybe he has another one?

There is a reason that the 1689 LBC calls the Pope the AntiChrist.

Didn't the prophet Isaiah already gave us what God thinks of our best works to present to Him for salvation, apart from the Cross?

Not really sure Pope Francis is all that far from where Billy Graham is and has been since the 1960s.

Oh absolutely and I'm afraid that he meant just exactly what he said but then again, the Catholic church's official stance is that no one can be saved outside the church so I don't know how those two things square together.

[IMG] The Pope is just another false teacher who happens to direct 1.2 billion Catholics.

Goes back to their church holding that salvation not found outside the catholic church, but that God will still save ignorant pople, those who ahve sincere faith in other religions IF they do not know catholic doctrine!

2 groups lost, and cannot be saved, are those who know and rject RCC truths, or former catholics who rejected the faith!
