    Wow really? All these spiritual Calvinists on here and you haven't got an answer yet? Come on now, they were just praising liquor on another thread, you really think they want to indict themselves by searching for the scriptures on it?

    And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will also bless the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy land, thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep, in the land which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee.

    Boy does that verse tick off some IFB's and especially the KJVOnly types. :wavey:

    There are some fundys that are just about the bible,and trying to win the lost.The fight is not with them as you have stated often.
    These KJO,legalistic types....have lost their minds.

    I do not drink,and use a KJV mostly....but those two legalistic doctrines usually are held by misguided persons.....

    they say that wacko Steve Anderson used to post on here, before being banned....he is the poster boy for religious ignorance....
    they are rabidly psychotic...I give fundies a chance until I hear them say, well...MY BIBLE SAYS....

    They generally love to preach about what they don't do, like drink, go to movies, using other versions, dance, smoke, chew &c. They stay off topics where they are guilty such as gossip and gluttony.

    Kind of exactly like the Pharisee v. Publican, talking about what they do and how they're not like 'sinners'.

    Ephesians 5:18 - And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

    Proverbs 20:1 - Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.

    Galatians 5:21 - Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God

    Isaiah 28:7 - But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment.

    Proverbs 30:29-30- Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes?
    They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine.

    1 Corinthians 6:9-10-Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

    1 Thessalonians 5:6-7-Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.

    There's no excuse for a Christian to glorify, praise, and practice drinking.

    It didn't take long to get evidence!

    See what I mean Icon? They preach about what they don't do in self-righteousness...but they don't about things they do such as deceitfulness, lying &c...they leave those things off that they themselves practice.

    And it doesn't surprise me that Calvinist are so worldly who take their liberty as a license to live like devils, and mock God's sanctification. They'll gladly take the God saved me against my will, but when the ordained to good works part of Ephesians 2:10 comes in....Oh that's LEGALISM. So the remedy is just downplay everything in the Bible that clearly teaches against the practice of drunkenness and pull one verse out of context and use against the evidence in the rest of the Bible about drinking.

    So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. -- 1 Corinthians 10:31

    Fundies can't separate out between being drunk and drinking wine. They are not one in the same. Alcohol consumption is Biblically allowable.

    Who are you to judge a brother? You don't know how Calvinists live. You don't like the doctrine so you accuse and insult. It's ok to plagiarize though right?

    And that verse has been misused by others just like you, strippers for Jesus all for the glory of God, smoke weed as long as whatever you do, is all to the glory of God.

    Nice way to completely misinterpret this verse.
