There are 8 NT passages which give long lists of …
examples of deadly habitual sins that will keep Christians out of heaven.

Christians are provided with warnings, and those who are
committing these sins habitually are called “unrighteous” (1 Cor 6:9)

Christians habitually doing these sins will NOT inherit the kingdom of God:
    1 Cor 6:9-10
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God?
Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals,
nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners
will inherit the kingdom of God.
    Gal 5:19-21
Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness,
lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish
    ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like;
of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past,
that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
    Eph 5:3-6
But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you,
as is fitting for saints; neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are
not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person,
nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.
Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God
comes upon the sons of disobedience.

Christians habitually doing these sins will NOT enter the New Jerusalem:
    Rev 21:27
But there shall by no means enter it (the New Jerusalem, v.10) anything that defiles,
or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
    Rev 22:14-15
Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life,
and may enter through the gates into the city. But outside are dogs and sorcerers and
sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.

Christians habitually doing these sins will incur the wrath of God:
    Col 3:5-6
Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth:
fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.
Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience …

Christians habitually doing these things are deserving of death:
    Rom 1:29-32
… being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness,
maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers,
backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to
parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the
righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death …

Christians habitually doing these sins will go into the lake of fire:
    Rev 21:7-8
He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.
But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers,
idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone,
    which is the second death.

If I were a OSAS person my question to you would simply be if a person is a Christian they wouldn't be doing those things habitually. Therefore the scripture isn't talking to the "saved" but to the "unsaved". How do you respond?

"But such were some of you" he goes on to say. Secondly, these are not things non-existent in the life of the believer, as he could have gone on to list all the traits of the flesh.

Second, entering versus inheriting the kingdom are not one and the same. There are those who teach others to disobey the commands of God who are still "least" IN the kingdom (Mt. 5:19).

Third, he is listing what a person is by characterization not by occassional lapse.

Find anyone alive that is free from these sins on any given day of his life and I will show you only one three possible human beings (1) Prefallen Adam and Eve; (2) Jesus Christ.

Secondly, this statement is couched between verse 16 and verse 25 both of which admit these things occur throughout the life of true believers due to indwelling sin or "the flesh."

Take note that some of the "saved" do not enter the gates in Rev. 21:25 but only "walk in" its light while the kings of the earth bring their gifts INTO it.

Secondly, note the context is AFTER the Great White Seat Judgement (Rom. 20) and AFTER creation of a new heaven and earth (Rev. 21:1).

There are more OUTSIDE the city than just the lost.

Again there are more outside the city than just the lost. Those "saved" dwell outside the city for a reason. The term "dogs" was used by Christ to describe a saved woman but one who was OUTSIDE the nation of Israel. The term "nations" describe those OUTSIDE the city of God (Rev. 21:25). David and Solomon were sexually immoral and David was a murderer. Abraham, Isaac and Jacob all had the weakness of lying throughout their lives.

If you have ever "lusted" on a woman after your conversion or since they you are an adulterer (Mt. 5:21-26). The last record of Lot was in drunkeness and incest and yet Peter claims he was a true child of God and he had nothing but the Biblical record of his life.

This does not mean a child of God can get away with such things without temporal and eternal consequences (internal wretchedness, loss of assurance, loss of joy, loss of fellowship, loss of rewards, etc.).

If true children of God were not subject to such things there would be no need to exhort them to "put to death your members." He is addressing those who were already Christians. Christians must "put to death" the law of sin in the flesh every single day or it will dominate your life for that period.

These things do characterize the lost but are not absent from the life of the saved either. Wrath comes upon the lost while chastening comes upon the saved. Repenting and forsaking such sins are the only way for EXPERIENTIAL assurance of salvation.

The context does not refer to Christians at all but to the lost who have rejected the light of creation, conscience and the gospel (Rom. 1:18-21).

Note this is a future condition "will be" his God and he "shall be" my Son in the sense of inheritance not in the sense of regeneration. We are now the sons of God by regeneration but not all who are now the sons of God by regeneration will "inherit all things" as that depends upon faithfulness. It is this faithfulness that determines the difference between "saved" outside the city (Rev. 21;25) and those inside (Rev. 22:1-3). It is this difference that determines who partakes of the "fruit" of the tree of life and who only receives the leaves (Rev. 21:2).

how about providing us a link to a non-OSAS board, so we can go on there and do likewise.

You have started several threads - and it appears you have little support.

I say there are BACs who habitually lie.
    So, the question is:
Will the Holy Spirit will be successful in curing them of this habit before they die?

    Testimony time again ...
Some countries (e.g. Bulgaria) enjoy lying as being a BIG part of their culture.
Christians just laugh about it (e.g. it's who we are!). Greece is worse.
The Lord had me preach on LYING to a Baptist congregation of 400 in Bulgaria.
There are plenty of nice verses to choose from ... piece of cake.

    Note:
It is a known fact that some BACs have walked away from the faith.
And surely, they went back into one or more of these sins.

Proof that all of these were not false professors. How can you prove any were actually born again? Are you God and can look at the heart?

Real true pastors (who are called and anointed by God to be such)
actually are real shepherds of Jesus' sheep ... all of which is to say ...

Some BACs in ministry have superior discernment on the spiritual condition of all people.

Prerequisite to be on this level ... one or more of the 9 spiritual power gifts in 1 Cor 12.
And I wouldn't dare mention the baptism with the Holy Spirit, so I won't.

But you missed the next verse for the rebuttal to what you've said:

"And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God."

Yep - the works of the flesh. But after this we read:

"And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires."

Ahh - look at that. Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh. The works of the flesh do not work in us anymore.

Notice the 'sons of disobedience'. When we read the whole passage, we see that we're not to associate with such or even talk about it. I don't see anything here about losing salvation but being careful to be imitators of God and not the world.

Who's names are written in the Lamb's Book of life? Believers. We are cleaned by the blood of the Lamb - not by our works.

So you are saying that the law saved?

Verse 11 says "He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still." So those who are righteous (remember, it's not OUR righteousness but Christ's that is accounted to us) are still righteous. They are not now unrighteous.

Again - the "sons and daughters of disobedience" tells us a lot.

Yet you miss verse 3: "For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God."

You really love to take things out of context, don't you? Let's see the verse immediately before this and tell me that God is speaking of believers here:

"And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done."

Can you show me in the context here that this is speaking of Christians?

You have to realize that one who is indwelt with the Holy Spirit may start out his walk doing these things but he will not enjoy them. He will know that it is wrong and he will overcome them. Should a person be wontonly doing these things and disregarding the Word, then are they a believer? Does one who ignores God love God? Does he believe in Him?

No human can look into the heart of any man

Those at Corinth had all the gifts but were "carnal" and not Spiritual (1 cor. 3:1-3). Gifts do not make anyone spiritual. John the Baptist was the greatest man born of woman (besides Christ) and a child of God and had NO SIGN gifts - Peformed NO MIRACLES. Greater than Moses and greater than Elijah and Elisha who performed more miracles than any other recorded prophets in recorded Old Testament history. HENCE MIRACLES AND SPIRITUAL GIFTS DO NOT MAKE YOU GREAT OR SPIRITUAL.

You are speaking ignorantly with no scriptures to support one iota of what you are asserting.

What is a BAC? If you mean Born Again Christian then why immediately do you assume they are lying. People struggle with sin but if they are fighting it and occasionally failing then how can you call that habitual sin? It seems like habitual struggle with occasionally failing but don't you believe God forgives those failings?

You mistakenly assume that all BACs are as obedient, etc. as you are.
I see this all the time ... BACs like you take this personally.
The BACs I'm talking about aren't on any Christian forums! Dah.
They have decided to leave the faith (for many reasons).
What do you think Heb 6:4-8 is all about?
You also mistakenly assume the Spirit will continue to convict them forever.

    Don't you believe this? ...

In the NT we have this incredible mixture of:
    • Blessings
    • Explanations
    • Exhortations
    • Warnings that the Blessings are conditional.

The simple Blessings are hooks to catch the little fishes.
Then Jesus Warns to first count the cost of discipleship.
Paul constantly gives Exhortations and encouragement.
And we are Warned that the Blessings are conditional.

Please explain why Jesus Warns believers ... to first "count the cost" before they get started.

First, you cannot prove that the BAC's you are speaking about are genuine BAC's. Indeed, the very characteristics you ascribe them fit the false professor or one of the three soils in Matthew 13. Remember, that Jesus called only ONE of these soils "good" and it is only that soil that brought forth crops. The distinctions of thirty, sixty, hundred demonstrated the differences between true Christians while the other three soils represent BAD but RELIGIOUS hearts.

    1. Bro. and Sister HARD heart - soil one - no penetration by God's Word
    2. Bro. and Sister SHALLOW heart - no depth, no perservance, no love for God's word
    3. Bro. and Sister NO PRIORITY heart - no room for God's Word in their worldly lives.

Why should BACs listen to anyone who is not a disciple of Christ (Matt 28:19-20),
one who doesn't understand anything about the workings of the Spirit, etc.?

Your seminary (or whatever) book learning has nothing to do with the things of the Spirit ...
"Ministers of the new covenant ... (know very well that) the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life" (2 Cor 3:6).

Book learning is for the people of the Law, who knew (and know) absolutely nothing of the Spirit of God.

You are wasting your time ... and everyone else's as well ... not to mention forum space!

Again, you ignore the Biblical evidence placed in front of you and resort to ridicule which is the weapon of SATAN and his followers. Your fruits identify what "spirit" you are of (1 Jn. 4:1,6).

Again, you are attempting to play God claiming you know what you cannot possibly know except by omniscience.

It is clear you have no concept of Matthew 28:19-20 or even what or how a disicple is made.

Oh trust me - I'm not that obedient. I wish I were but I am not and it grieves me just as it does any other person indwelt with the Holy Spirit. If one does not feel conviction and grief and they just live their life to themselves without repentance, they are not saved.

Won't you agree he paid the cost of redemption in full? Hence, our cost is one of service. Look at the cost in Matthew 10:35 when family becomes your enemies. Look at the cost of daily self-denial. Look at the cost of hardships, persecutions. Look at the cost of time as a workman rightly dividing the word of truth. In addition look at the cost of the internal struggle daily with indwelling sin.

To say it another way, look at the life of Christ and see what it cost him to serve God. Yet, he was sinless and did not serve to become saved.

It's not easy to live the life of a believer but when you count the cost to Jesus Christ, it's a whole different ballgame!
