    What is the above verse talking about?

    Is it actually meaning that there are no more large bodies of water on the New Earth? Including lakes as well?

    Is it talking about all seas or specifically (for whatever reason) that only the Mediterranean Sea ceases to exist?

    Or is it figurative, speaking about the nations?


    I'm leaning towards a literal 'no more large bodies of water' interpretation. Especially in light of the conflagration of 2 Peter 3:10.

    But that position is... fluid. :smilewinkgrin:

    the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.
    But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.     Genesis 2:5b-6

    Many would say that there was a huge icy comet that deposited the water on the earth at the time of Noah,
    and that the "new earth" will be like the "original" earth, before the flood.

    I agree with you, I believe it is literal, there will be no more oceans.

    This verse has always bothered me, I surfed when I was young, and hoped I could surf in heaven. :smilewinkgrin:
