    The land shall not be sold for ever: for the land is mine; for ye are strangers and sojourners with me. Leviticus 25:23

    Hmmm... God says, "Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession among all peoples, for all the earth is mine;"

    So... God seems to think He owns it all.

    7 He is the Lord our God: His judgments are in all the earth.

    8 He hath remembered his covenant forever, The word which he commanded to a thousand generations.

    9 Which covenant he made with Abraham, And his oath unto Isaac;

    10 And confirmed the same unto Jacob [genetic Israel] for a law, And to Israel for an everlasting covenant:

    11 Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, The lot of your inheritance:
    Psalm 105:7-11

    To promote the idea that the church is an afterthought, a parenthesis in history?

    Quite right. God's physical promises to Israel were based on Israel's obedience.

    Not really sure if it is a point about the church in the future or not. All I know is He is the Creator, and it all belongs to Him, not only the Earth but everything contained within and outside of the universe.

    Regardless, here is a beautiful version of "Exodus." (Mancini)

    Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ,
    according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,

    Romans 16:25

    Do you think that perhaps God didn't want to "tip his hand" to the Devil, in order that he might accomplish something???

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    And now God has a further plan "in the works":
    For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits;
    that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved:
    as it is written, There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
    [ie: genetic Israel]
    Romans 11:25-26

    No Thomas not at all.

    Just as Israel was not an afterthought or a parenthesis.

    Isaiah 46
    9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,
    10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:
