The Stunning Hypocrisy of the U.S. Government

    I heard one of the congress persons tell why this was a good thing. It centered around the fact that they only made so many dollars a year (read that very underpaid for the work they do was here train of thought) so this was a way of helping them supplement their income.

    With that kind of logic - or lack there of why shouldn't they be passing the garbage that they are passing off as "legislation?"

    Our only natural criminal class (Mark Twain) would not serve if they could not become richer. Thankfully we have the best Congress that money can buy. Hoosier humorist Kin Hubbard (1868-1930) noted, "Now and then an innocent man is sent to the legislature." The pork barrel system is running on red ink. The economy might improve if the government would cut spending as much as possible.

    Is it OK to claim the Federal Government as a dependent on your income tax forms?

    Only if you understand that the fifth amendment only applies to government officials and IRS agents. You waive that right by filing an income tax return.
