....and it was really very good. My pastor and his wife went to the convention and brought back this sermon.

I took a few notes that were convicting to me, I hope some of these things he said convicts us all.

His base text was John 13:34-35

    • On unnecessary debate: "We are just going to have to agree that we will not always agree."
    • On unnecessary debate vs. the main thing: "The main thing is the Great Commission. Today, in this society, lost people are already on fire and headed for hell. And all we can do is to stand around arguing over which hose to us while they burn."
    • On personal revival: "You can't have a genuine and authentic love of the Savior and NOT experience a [personal] revival."
    • "Do you REALLY love Jesus?" If you call yourself a Calvinist - do you really love Him? If you call yourself an non-Calvinist - do you really love Him? If you have the word "Baptist" in the name of your church - do you really love Him? If you don't - do you really love Him? If you hold on to that King James Bible only - do you really love Him? If you love the King James and others - do you really love Him? Do you really love Him?"
    • "There just three things to remember: love the Savior, love the scriptures, and love each other."

I met Dr. Luter about 10 yrs ago at a SBC meeting----I was impressed---you know, though----you would think that those guys being the President of the SBC---they would get a lot of entourage of people always surrounding them wherever they go----but I met Dr. Luter and he was all by himself---I met Dr. Adrian Rogers--and he was all by himself--same way with Dr. Jerry Vines and Dr. Bailey Smith---but these guys were all by themselves walking though the convention site---looking like they've just lost their best bird dog!!!

We hosted him and many from his congregation after hurricane Katrina. It was incredible because a lot of his members who he hadn't heard from found out he was in Atlanta at our church and showed up and surprised him.

He preached on "This Too Shall Pass". We were getting all Bapticostal in there.

He and our pastor are good friends so he comes to preach for us every now and then. He was here last back in March.
