My books I want to read

    Of the following books which 3-5 would you start reading? None of these books are the Bible and are to be tested with the Bible, but mature believers read books. I believe that Follow Me, The New Age book by Lutzer, and several by John Piper are my choice. How about yours?

    I would need to know more about the books.

    I probably would not read Piper. I watched several clips of him on You Tube and he convinced me that Calvinism is a huge error ... as least as he describe it. Thus, I doubt I would find his writings helpful to me.

    I am in a bit of a hurry at the moment. I'll think about this and let you know a few books I would like to read.

    Here's ONE that will help you more than all those others put together. And it will help you to understand THE Book better.

    I'm rereading dispensationalism by Ryrie right now. I see that's in your stack.
    Also, I noticed you like Lutzer. I would suggest a book by his Eternal Rewards:Tears and Triumph at the Judgement Seat of Christ. I will eagerly be awaiting your thread when you finish it calling him a heretic.

    I've read a few of the books you pictured - J.I. Packer's "Knowing God" is a classic. Wiersby's "Be" books are decent as a devotional commentary series.

    Although I understood the point of his book, I detested Piper's "Desiring God"

    I've not read any of David Jeremiah's books and find myself disagreeing too much with MacArthur.

    IMO there are no "must read now" books in this collection.

    Amy's recomendation on the other hand is a must read! :thumbsup:

    I vote for the first 4 from the left pile, in that order: Follow Me - Desiring God.

    For the record I would throw away (or at least yard sale) the top book on the right stack...

    I have it and finished it about a year ago. He is not heretic so stop putting words into my mouth. Yes he has some questionable views, but for the most part it was a good read. Know if I had read the Gospel According to Jesus (which I have yet to read) I would think differently about his book. But having read Hard to Believe there is no question that MacArthur and Lutzer clash in their views..
