    I received a call on my cell phone today from a man who said he was from Wells Fargo and knew my name and said he had a certified check for me. I immediately told him he wasn't legit and hung up. He had the audacity to call back and immediately started yelling at me and said he was legit and had a check for 1.5 million for me. I laughed real hard and told him he could have it. He laughed and said he didn't need it because he said he was a rich (n-word). I told him to never call my number again and he started yelling again about how legit he was. He ended up calling me about 5 times before he gave up. I have his number, should I report this or ignore this? If I report it, how do I go about it?

    If you got his phone number via your phone's Caller ID it's probably a fake phone number. Type it into the Google search box and see what comes up. If it's a fake there's no point in reporting it. Also, it's been my experience that the police would take your report and throw it on the stack of similar reports in the file, "Things to Investigate When Real Crime Stops Occurring."

    I have this sort of thing happen to me almost daily. I sort of gave up being mad with these people and turn it into an opportunity for entertainment. Usually this amounts to turning into a district attorney and going into full prosecution mode. In your case I would have immediately asked, "OK, you say you know my name--what is it?" "Where are you calling from?" "What is the check number on the check"? "Could you spell the name of the company you work for?" "What's their Federal Tax ID number?" etc. etc. They usually hang up and never call back.
