You know its amazing how many these days do not preach the LAW as they preach only grace and as a result have produced lots of false converts. Dont be like that but preach the LAW, the Holiness of God, the LORDSHIP of Christ, and such to people before the plan of salvation. Sadly many have chosen to ignore me as I have called those involved in evangelism back to Law Work but they do so in their own disobedience. So sad the state of the church today. Dont be like that but preach the LAW before grace.

Any convert a person produces is a "false convert."

If the Word of God and the Holy Spirit are not involved, the "convert" will not be a believer.

If the Word of God and the Holy Spirit are involved, the "convert" is "born from above" and the "preacher" is merely the witness to the conversion.

God never called us to "Win Souls."

When Christ gave the "great commission," He wasn't asking or requesting something be done. He states the commission as a fact that will happen. "You SHALL be witnesses..."

One of the great hallmarks of a believer is that they cannot keep from giving witness of Christ in their life. They will testify of the work of Christ both "in season and out of season."

As they witness of the Grace and Goodness of God, the salt of Scriptures will pepper their speech, and the Holy Spirit will take that Scripture to impact those around them - Some perhaps to salvation, others perhaps to confirm the condemnation.

Believers are witnesses - can't help but be witnesses - it is the command of God.

Excellent agedman. Is this guy an apostle or something? He would usurp the Bible and declare that the gospel should not be preached? How sadly arrogant!!!

I'm always afraid I will lead someone to a false conversion. Scripture says God holds more accountable those who teach and preach, but that shouldn't make cowards of us, instead we should make sure we proclaim the whole truth. Good post.

Actually the Bible commands all of us to witness and preach the gospel (Mark 16). I get disturbed with churches that worship celebrity evangelists and frown upon individual evangelists. Sadly much of the IFB movement has this problem and sad they are too blind too see their error of their ways. Ray Comfort encourages all of us to be witnesses and he does not advocate worshipping celebrity evangelists.

Here's my take on it- it's not going to be popular, but it is what it is...

I'm not a fan of evangelists, unless they pastor or are missionaries. Too many guys who have never done it go around telling pastors how they should do it. If I want an evangelist in my church, I'll call a missionary. Now THAT'S an evangelist.

Don't have a problem with a guy who has "been there, done that". But there's too many who haven't setting themselves up as the experts. But my experience with them has been mostly on the IFB side, so maybe that's the reason I feel that way.

But this is beside the point of the OP, I think- so I'll shut up now.

Thats why you are Biblically wrong. You have not read Mark 16 and the command is for ALL to go out and proclaim the gospel. There are too many pastors and missionaries that are filled with pride and think they are better than everyone. Too many "professional evangelists" that do mot reach those on the streets nor pass out tracts, nor do open air preaching. God uses so many lone evangelists that Ray Comfort and others have trained up to reach the lost. Are you against God using WOTM evangelists?

Then you have ignored the THOUSANDS that Ray Comfort, Paul Washer and others have raised up. God has used this multitude of evangelists to go and reach the lost which is something many professionals have not done as most of them have ignored the streets.

There may be some like that, but I rejoice that God has used Ray Comfort and others to train up evangelists that the IFB "professionals" have failed to go. Does this not excite you? God can and does use unschooled men as he did with the disciples.

Why preach the gospel before preaching repentance? Why preach the gospel before preaching the law? The result will be people that will recite a prayer and go to church and still are unbelievers because they have not repented nor taken seriously the gospel. They are false converts but they fill many churches.

    Exactly!!!!!

One good thing from the OP is the tell them WHY they need to be saved, not HOW to be saved until they know WHY.

I don't know how it is in other places, but the thing here is to get others to say a prayer, and then a few of them will submit to baptism, and after this they will never come to church again. The preacher promises the congregation that it doesn't matter, they're going to heaven no matter what because Jesus cannot lie and thus Romans 10:13 is true (no matter what the rest of Scripture says).

But why should they come back to church? They've been promised by a man they are now going to go to heaven when they die. 'Eat, drink and be lawless, for tomorrow we go to heaven'.

Suggesting that we are not told to win souls. Can't be more anti-evangelism than that.
