My goodness the hate that the elect have to face by some is terrible. With some you try and ignore and be kind but they could never ignore you and just are filled with pure hate. But Jesus promised that this would happen to the true followers of Christ. They will make accusations that they cant backup in a court of law and do all kinds of things. This is to be expected. How should we respond in anger? No! We are dealing with dead people and although they may confess salvation they are dead and lost and cannot reason by the Bible.

I applaud those of you on this site whom have faced this as I have and I encourage you to keep the faith and to keep on fighting for the faith and standing for Christ.

Those who do not have the love of Christ have nothing but hate.

What kind of feelings are you indicating about those that you seem to be so strongly judging and condemning?

Are you the infallible determiner or judge of who is lost and who is saved?

Are you possibly displaying as great arrogance in your assumptions or speculations about others as those you accuse?

Well said...and lets face it, lots of these so called Christians are very hypothetical, judgemental, and pushy. When were you saved brother Steve, when were you saved is not the correct approach. Its truly living the life of a Christian and living by example. I would say that if you are seeing any hate its because people have become tired of these acts of appearing Christian while never living like one or producing. Personally id take a recking ball to the vast majority of these false churches today...they do more harm to Christs kingdom than they ever help.

I am just saying that the Bible teaches in the Gospel of John, Romans and other places.

    John 3:19-20
This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed.

    Romans 3:21-31
For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.

24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

Believers need to witness to those of this world, pray for them for they are lost. But do not be surprised when they act as they do. They are lost and cannot act any better. God will call His true elect to salvation, but it is our duty as pilgrims in a lost world to witness and bring people to the light.

The Pot Calling The Kettle Black....

E,W & F...aren't you and Logos doing the exact same thing that you are suggesting that Bro.Evangelist is doing???....by JUDGING that he is "judging" others based on the outward "fruit" that their lives display? The Bible offers stark contrasts between spiritual light and spiritual darkness and the only prohibition when making discernments about how to approach others about the Lord is that we must take care that it is not done hypocritically (Matthew 7:1-5). Also,1st John is replete with the characteristics of those who are truly born-again in Christ. We are called everyday to repeatedly make sound and discerning judgements about what is right and wrong. YES...God IS the ultimate judge but we must pray for wisdom concerning how we approach people regarding spiritual matters.

Well of course I'm judging......but not evangelist. I like him though I view him as very innocent in many ways. seriously to ask why people are hostile to church (in general today) is to have a disconnect with the world.

I do however find it very amusing that you believe that in a world of sinful people (as filthy as menstrual clothes as the bible makes reference to) that you can suggest we are even capable of doing anything without being hypocritical. Why hypocrisy is the mother of all sins. There isn't a human being alive (with the exception of Christ of course), I am certain, who does not wallow in it, knowingly or unknowingly. We must accept ourselves for what we are. That is the secret of a healthy mind and body.

And Greg, hypocrisy should not be wholly detested. Without it we should have no civilization, nor could humans live together for a single hour without each other. Other words for it are gentility and tolerance and regard for neighbor, and self restraint and self discipline. I might go so far as to say that without it we should have no churches and no religions.

We are all flawed because the heart is deceitful above all things and desparately wicked even those who are the children of God seem to be able to reinvigorate the flesh, do and say wicked things.

Yes we are to judge. Jesus finished His pronouncments of "judge not that you be judged" with self-judgement, righteous judgment.

I think a good analogy is to judge symptoms as a well-trained physician who himself has the disease of sin and has overcome by the blood of the lamb.

Our judgment is to be theraputic not punitive (that's God's perogative).

Yes, we need to be careful not to get infected (or re-infected) ourselves.

I think the O/P is well taken however, as the final hour approaches satan knows he has but a little while and turns on the over-drive on hate.

Interesting topic. Amazing how it can fly out of control into a finger pointing contest.

I don't put much thought into the subject myself. The first time I read the Gospels it was clear that living a Christian life would be hard and rejected by many. So I view any flak I get as bearing my daily cross. Let those who hate do as they will and continue to build your treasures in heaven.

Well, if you are going to haul neighbors to church in your John Deere and trailer, a little flak is to be expected don't you think?

    No, that is incorrect.

I was asking the poster proper thought-provoking questions to try to get him to think more carefully about what he asserts.

Don't be deceived. The only one who believes vodka is odorless is the man/woman drunk on it.

Obviously never heard of Sobieski & OJ....personally prefer it with olives straight up....makes the day go better & can whiten your teeth too. Your probably talking bout cheep Smirnoff shite.

If truth be known, nothing beats a 12 to 18 YO Single-Malt Scotch..... but because of distilling characteristics, well that has a distinct smell....sometimes like peat. Forget the Bourbon (thats just fomented corn squeezing).
