In a stunning admission to the Wall Street Journal, a senior administration official admitted that while veterans wait for services and children wait for cancer treatments, the White House doesn't care how long the shutdown lasts because, "We are winning."

Said a senior administration official: "We are winning...It doesn't really matter to us" how long the shutdown lasts "because what matters is the end result."

The Republicans are staging this entire thing to try to block a law that's been on the books for 4 years and was up;held by the Supreme Court. What part of the word law don't you understand?

Pure ignorance. They are trying to make sure there is an even playing field, no exemptions for big campaign givers, unions, elected officials, and corporations over 50 employees. Laws of the land deserve to be applied to everyone, no?

The good think about a Representative Republic like the United States is that there are three branches of government. This is called a checks and balances system. No one branch has more power than another.

In this system the house of Congress has the responsibility to originate all funding at its discretion. It is not subservient to any of the other branches. Neither is is compelled constitutionally to fund any previous law passed. If you do not like that I am sure Putin would love to have you.

Democrat Apologist: You started it, its your fault.
Republican Apologist: No, you started it, its your fault.
Democrat Apologist: No I didn't, its your fault.

Republican Apologist: We love America, we did not shut down the government.
Democrat Apologist: No you do not, we love America, we did not shut down the government.

Democrat Apologist: You hate veterans, single mothers, and hungry children.
Republican Apologist: No, you hate veterans, single mothers, and hungry children.

An exact duplication of this thread and the debate between a group of self serving slobs that represent the two parties.

Can you not get it though your heads that certain things transcend political theory such as the ability to govern, serving the people, and following the Constitution? While you all take it hook, line and sinker about the fictitious gap between the two parties, thousands upon thousands of citizens are out of work while these criminals continue to receive their paycheck?

But then again, the criminal on your side is better than the other one, right?

That is the logic of a Republican apologist. So in the 60s, we should have been friends with Red China because they were enemies of the Soviet Union. Duh.....................

Not too far off SN, Nixon began developing that friendship in 1972 when he made his famous (or infamous) Visit to China.
