Biden frozen out of debt ceiling talks by Reid?

Maybe Harry Reid is smarter than I thought. IMO, the biggest break Republicans could get in the 2016 election is if the Democrats nominate Joe Biden for President. Few stick their foot in the mouth as much as this guy.

So who do you think would be the more formidable candidate in 2016 for our side, Joe Biden or Hillary Clinton?

 

What does the GOP have to fear from Clinton, who lost to Obama? Clearly, Biden is not a favorite with the people, but then Clinton has many problems, although those problems may not make any difference.

 

Losing an election makes you damaged goods.

 

Of course I agree with you but I am thinking that Hillary will rhetorically question what difference it makes. Hillary came to Indiana in the primary against Obama and all she attracted was a few women who wanted same-sex marriage for themselves. Her crowd in downtown Indianapolis was pitifully small but then demographics have changed in Indianapolis as people have movedhe suburbs.

 

I do agree with you about Ben Carson. Is there any other nominee you would back? One must remember, to effect change, one must win a majority in the electoral college. It is obvious that left leaning, establishment candidates like McCain and Romney do not work.

The best example of nominating a true conservative crushing the Democrats is the elections of 80 and 84. Two days before the election, Carter and Reagan were tied in the polls. Reagan went on election day to crush Carter by 44 to 6 states. In 84, he took 49 states.

It should be quite clear. The results of nominating a conservative, and the results of nominating a RINO. It is amazing if one thinks about it. In 1984, Reagan carried Mass, NY, Vermont, California, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Maryland, etc. In 2008, Obama carried Indiana and NC. No state is out of reach for either side.

We should have learned our first lesson in the 1992 election. Bush was a different type than Reagan. Really, for his political stance, he did not do a bad job. However, Clinton beat him and soundly electorally. That should have told us right there what kind of Republican candidate wins. We went on the nominate Dole, Bush, McCain, and Romney. The elections we did win 2000, especially, was certainly not decisive, in fact, it will always be a question, like the 1960 election.

The only way to win decisively and take the Congress also, is to nominate a charismatic, common sense, conservative that believes in the Constitution. As long as we continue with the Romneys, McCains, and McConnells, we are either going to lose or have divided government, and nothing is going to change.
