There are those that falsely accuse me on FB and other online boards that I follow MacArthur whom is someone that attacks all those that do not agree with him. This is false as I have yet to hear a message or read in a book MacArthur going off on someone whom is not Reformed yet teaches the right gospel. David Jeremiah, Erwin Lutzer, Charles Stanley, David Hawkings, WoodRow Crow, Ravi Zacharias, are but a few of the non Reformed that MacArthur has never attacked. The problem are those with another gospel and those are whom need to have their doctrines and books attacked and refuted. So when it comes to dealing with Arminian such as WinMan and others do realize that they have the right gospel and are our brothers.

First, anytime you present yourself as “following” a particular pastor then you should expect attacks that may not be warranted. There are no perfect pastors and all have strengths and weaknesses. Access the teachings, and if it is truly from God then the pastor is merely the instrument.

Second, while you have Calvinists, Arminians, and non-Calvinist/Arminian Christians on BB and in the world, there will always be some that believe they have cornered the truth and will dogmatically insist on their understanding come hell or high water. They may actually be theologically correct, but their error is in understanding the gospel itself. They are like clockmakers who cannot tell time.

My suggestion is to seriously consider what they say and examine yourself and who you follow. Listen to them and ask questions. If you conclude that their accusations are unwarranted and false then go your merry way and don’t worry about what they say.

    JonC,

I so appreciate your wisdom, insight and spirit. Many here could learn from your example (myself at times as well). Please don't consider me "theological pacifist" :)

I'm not reformed, but I'm not an Arminian either. (The dualism around here is silly.)

Per the OP, if a pastor you enjoy is known for his attacks and not his grace he has problem. I appreciate Dr MacArthur's ministry, but he's always the one on the attack. I've not seen many who attack him first.

Also, we should treat those who we differ with that still call Christ Lord and agree on the essentials, brothers and sisters in Christ.

Maybe the folks he is "attacking" are too busy picking out a new jet plane, buying that 4th vacation home, or getting their teeth shellaced so they'll look good on that new book cover.

This article has a nice tidy summary of Paul's instructions regarding false teachers in the pastoral epistles. I guess Paul wasn't very "graceful" either.

I wish they could help those in need. I have spent a bit of time unemployed in Colorado and just completed my 5th week of FT work at my new job. As a result of my unemployment I have allot of CC debt which I cannot pay back very easily.
