I thought you might find it interesting as well.

Sermon audio seems to have a lot of not so well known but very good & solid preachers.

E-sword also links to this site verse by verse and you can play the sermons from the program itself.

I noted that nobody mentioned John Piper. Do you feel he lacks the scholarly qualities of men like. ML-J, Ferguson & Boyce...that's how I see him.

For reading purposes, I enjoy Jones...like Studies in the Sermon on the Mount. ML-J is far better as a writer of books where as Sinclair Ferguson captivates me both in his books and his sermons, he is very scholarly and has a sence of humor.

Paul Washer interests me, but I'm conserned with his presentation into blended churches ...he riles them up too much. If I were him, I would stick to Reformed movement churches.

I'm not into Piper. I've heard a few good things he has said on clips from youtube but I don't seek him out. He comes up as suggestions when listening to others.

MLJ's sermons are online and free. Many of them are word for word what he says in his books, thus his writings are actually his sermons.

He's only doing what you are doing but on a much larger scale, goose. :tongue3:

You didn't mean the 19th century Baptist James Boice;but James M. Boice of 10th Presbyterian fame.
It was the Doctor who introduced me to Reformed theology more than 35 years ago through his sermons put to print. And as P4T said --Dr. M-L-J never wrote a book to my knowledge --it's just that his sermons and addresses were put into book form. But even his letters are worth reading.

No ML-J published his sermons...that's correct. Yes and referring to James Montgomery Boyce @ 10th Presbyterian in Philadelphia......that's Pa, not creamed cheese.

    More blunders from ITL.

You did see the OP title, correct, or was it just too difficult for you to comprehend?

    It says 'Favorite' Pastors. :wavey:

I know you hate pesky facts that are glaringly obvious that you are oblivious to. Perhaps a name change to 'InTheDark' or 'Mushroom' for you? They are certainly more fitting. :)

But you do know what 'favorite' means, correct? Like that it doesn't mean 'only'? Yes, that's right, your pointing out what you thought was error on my part is actually error on your part. Nice try though, and pay better attention.

Just for the record, reading A W Tozer right now. :love2:

I’m reading Brian McLaren and his “how do you know that? I don’t know, I just know” theology. I certainly wouldn’t put him on my list of favorite anything.

I think most would read opposing views, but I don't think that anyone would list them as a favorite.
