President Obama has reached his lowest approval rating in any Quinnipiac University national poll since being elected president, with 39 percent of registered voters now approving of his job performance and 54 percent disapproving...

...Nearly two-thirds of independents disapprove of the president’s job performance, and 91 percent of Republicans disapprove. Democrats approve by a 79 percent to 14 percent margin.

For the first time, voters say by a 52 percent to 44 percent margin that Mr. Obama is not honest and trustworthy.

Once again compare that to the Republicans in Congress. Their positive rating is 12%! It's because of their "block everything Obama proposes" policy that nothing is getting done.

It is not just Republicans in congress that has a low rating it is everyone in congress which includes the Senate and the Democrats.

But that is just the DNC talking points being regurgitated.

Ideas come from both sides of the aisle. The Republican-majority House passed 15 bills to keep the government open during the shutdown. The Democrat-majority Senate refused to even look at them, much less vote. Who's doing nothing? Everyone here knows, except for you.

What are the priorities of Republicans in the House other than blocking everything Obama proposes. What new ideas have they proposed to end Bush's depression?

Interesting web site that graphs each President's approval rating since Truman. Truman and Nixon hit the 20s at various times. On the high side, Bush the First reached almost 90% during the Gulf War, only to lose the election two years later, and not barely. Some of the Presidents like Eisenhower, Kennedy, Ford, and Clinton had steady ratings. Some like Nixon, Truman, and Reagan bounced all over the map. Bush the Second hit a high on Sept 11, and dropped until the day he left office. This just puts Obama's numbers in perspective.

The Great Pretender has had five years to fix the depression and hasn't managed to do it yet. In fact, with real unemployment floating just below 14%, he's made it worse. He's taken possession of the depression. It wasn't really Bush's to start with, but the emperor with no clothes has certainly made it his own.

If you want your posts to be taken seriously then you need to refrain from exaggerated statements made out of emotion. There is already one liberal on this board who constantly posts out of emotion and no one takes him seriously either.

The primary cause of the current economy was the housing bubble bust. As it stands we have had economic growth so there is no longer a recession. There never was a depression. The largest problem we face right now is the lack of employment.

The housing bubble busted because of the GSE's like Freddie and Fannie. The Republicans along with Bush tried to warn of the possible failure of them. They even had hearings on this issue but Barney Frank and Maxine Waters were very angry over the hearings and said very loudly and boisterously as they could that there was nothing wrong with them. Here is a video of what I am talking about:

I have been greatly disappointed with the spending of Bush. But now Obama has taken what was bad and made it worse 10 fold. If you are going to support what Obama is doing with all the unfettered spending then you should have no problem with Bush in order to be consistent.

In order to get the economy going at a reasonable rate we need to get people working again. The number of those who have no job has never been greater. And Obama has let every other pet far left issue take importance over jobs. He has done nothing to address jobs. And this is why the economy is currently where it is at.

The excessive spending will be the downfall of America if illegal immigration is not. These are two of the primary reasons Rome fell and it looks like we are doomed to repeat history. We need to stop the spending until we get our deficit under control and get immigration under control.

But the dems are only worried about trying to obtain a voter base large enough to never lose another election. This is their primary goal right now.( http://progressive.org/adler0609.html ) Politics before the country. Power over people. And they will lie, cheat, and steal to get it.

The government was co opted by the foreign banks and corporations long ago. The evidence is manifest.

It's like the Wizard of Oz. The president whoever they may be can be compared to the big green head that does all the talking and threatening. The congress, house and senate and the conglomerated consolidated mockingbird corporate media can be compared to the curtains (false left vs right paradigm) that hides the real power running the country from our sight.

A group of private international banksters and transnational corporitos are behind the curtains pulling all the levers.

Anyone who still thinks the United States is an independent nation has rocks in their head.

Our government has been co opted and now serves as the enforcement and collection arm of a private international crime syndicate aka the New World Order. Globalization is their weapon of mass destruction.

"People, governments and economies of all nations must serve the needs of multinational banks and corporations." Zbigniew Brzezinski
