I don't know that one can separate the two.

    If so, how?

Not exactly sure what direction you're going, but with the title of Greed, I'll take a stab.

Most politics today are economic self-interest. That's how you get reelected, bring home the bacon or lose your job.

Interesting video. I disagree with the premise of Milton. He is speaking from a secular mindset. When faced with the question of greed, his answer is that the United States and its people are no worse than a Communist system or a dictatorship. He also states that the only way each individual man can pursue his dreams is to be greedy.

The answer to greed is being a Christian. Why does a man have to be greedy to pursue his life's goals? How about the motivator of doing a good job and pleasing the Lord. Jesus Christ is what separates the greedy from those who are grateful for what the Lord has given them.

It is even within the realm of possibility for politicians and leaders of this nation to not be greedy, for economic or political reasons. As someone posted above, the two really cannot be separated. How about a politician that has a heart of serving and not self interest and reelection? It does not exist, but it is possible. Don't you think at least some of the Founding Fathers were dedicated to service and were Christian? Out of the President, Vice-President, and 535 members of Congress, I would say that number hovers near zero.

The above two factors do not necessarily overlap.

As far as Christianity goes it depends on one's definition --by Bible standards very few --a distinct minority.

I can say that none of the following were Christian :George Washington,John Adams,Thomas Jefferson,James Madison,James Monroe,Benjamin Franklin --the most famous ones.

How do you define a Founding Father? How many are in the group? Are you including 2nd tier men from the next generation also? I wouldn't consider them "founding fathers."

I'm not sure about Alexander Hamilton, but John Witherspoon and John Jay were Christian --not just non-atheists.

Ok those men were all Christian. More historical revisionism. Anyway...

Milton's argument was not that the US is no different than communist countries. His argument was that the alternative to capitalism does not accomplish what they pretend it will.

You can always tell a liberal. First they want the founders to not be Christians. It has nothing to do with the truth it is only about their desire for the direction of the country. Second liberals always ask about Barton. Pathetic

Your discernment is quite marginal then.

I would prefer the truth. Let the chips fall where they may. It's not a case of not wanting the Founders to be non-Christian at all.
It has everything to do with the truth. Lies do not equal the furtherance of conservatism.
My concern for the direction of the country is God-ward.
What's pathetic about that? Do only liberals doubt Barton's accuracy? I think you are the one deserving of pity --only if you are completely in the dark about Barton. Otherwise --shame on you.
