    Only if....

...while walking under the ladder on the sidewalk, your foot lands on a crack and the salt you just flung over your shoulder lands in the eyes of the person walking close behind you, causing them pain and irritation needing medical attention...

Personally, people are going to be superstitious, because that seems to be innate! Of course, sin is innate too, so I guess the sin is in how crazy one becomes regarding the thing they are superstitious about? And we must not forget that superstitions are a form of myths, based on groundless fallacies and delusions! With that said, it is quite possible that being superstitious to the point that it over rides one faith, then it could be classified as a sin!

    Very good question!

    Superstition can become one's religion.

Most of us don't walk under a ladder if someone is at the upper end as something might fall on us. Cracks in the sidewalk..., silly. Then on the other hand, there are some odd situations we come across in life that defy rational explanation so we find it's easier to chalk it up as something supernatural.

I don't really consider superstition to be a sin but rather, a fear. A fobia. A lack of confidence.

    Superstition is based on ignorance.

Knock on wood. I hope so.

madre and I got married on December 13th. I was a new private in the Army and it was a Thursday but it was the only way I could get any time off. That said we've had a handful of anniversaries fall on Friday the 13th including the next one in a few weeks. 34 years into it and I don't see how it's cause any bad luck.

I don't get the black cat- ladder - broken mirror - spilled salt thing.

I've stepped on the crack hundreds of times and never broke my mommas back.

Yes because you are trusting in the supernatural that is not of God. It is a form of witchcraft and always sin.
