Would really like to read the list, but I'm skeered to click on any Crabtownboy provided links. Could someone copy them over to the thread, thanks.

"If you’re seeking wealth, prosperity, comfort, and security, Christianity isn’t the place to go."

There's no wealth, prosperity, comfort, or security in being saved ?

What kind of blasphemy are you trying to put on us ?

Is the promise of Heaven, like, well, one of Obama's promises ? Not really true, designed out of necessity to protect you from your own stupidity ?

The O/P is a load of manure.

    You'll always be happy.
    Your problems will disappear.
You'll be "blessed". (addresses the prosperity gospel)
Missions and ministry is fun and rewarding.
All your questions will be answered.
    The Christian community is great.
It makes you better than others.

Our kingdom is not of this Earth. The author of the O/P cannot get his head around this. I am already blessed, I am already wealthy. I have a mansion. If you are saved, you have one as well.

The author of the O/P makes a few ignorant generalizations. I know of no Christians who believe any of...

I think he does and that's the point. :)

Oh I've met MANY who think this. Not so much the last one although I have met Christians who act superior so maybe they do?

Those who hold to prosperity gospel believes some of that. But in general and by and large who believes that junk. I know of no one.

    Maybe a few Calvinists ? :) (Ducks)

I don't think you can read and study the Bible, and fellowship with other Christians, and believe anything on that list.

We are commanded to be happy.
We are promised more problems as a Christian than others.
Already addressed the prosperity, and stand by it.
One look at the tale of Jonah, and you will know some missionaries HATE their job.
"Be still, and know that I am God", "lean NOT to your own understanding" certainly blow up the "all your questions will be answered" malarkey.
The New testament is full of letters to Christian communities that had all kinds of error.
Nobody in scripture can lay a claim of being better than anyone else.

There. Every point slammed. If you meet someone who believes this junk, set them straight.

While the list you posted is exactly the titles of each issue the author Stephen wanted to address it is also misleading. If we read the actual article to sum it up he is suggesting that Christians are not being genuine or sincere. We are always putting on a facade to give the appearance of being a better Christian.
