My best commentary says v.12 refers to “holiness, perfection, and maturity”.

    Philippians 3:
12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on,
that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.
13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do,
forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,
14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
    15 Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind;
and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you.
16 Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already attained,
let us walk by the same rule, let us be of the same mind.
17 Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern.
18 For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping,
that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
19 whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly,
and whose glory is in their shame—who set their mind on earthly things

    12. Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect. Paul disclaims perfection; he had made great progress in Christlikeness, but the goal is still before him. But I follow after. I am pressing on. Paul is encouraged, not discouraged, as he keeps up the chase in pursuit of the goal. If that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Christ laid hold of Paul on the road to Damascus, and Paul's desire is to lay hold of Christ's purpose for his life. God desires to reveal His Son in Paul (Gal1:16). Paul desires a fuller apprehension of Christ, a fuller appreciation of Christ. (King James Bible Commentary, Edward R. Roustio, Th.D. )

    14. I press toward the mark. Paul was constantly bearing down upon the goal. For the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Paul found no time to relax; he found someone worth living for. Everything else was a waste of time and energy. Note it is the high calling of God or the upward calling. It was a call from heaven and a call to heaven. It was a call to be like Christ and to some day be with Christ. Paul is in hot pursuit of Christlikeness. (King James Bible Commentary, Edward E. Roustio, Th.D. )

The False Goal of Antinomianism vs 15-21.

    15. Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded. As many as are spiritually mature, full grown. This does not mean sinless perfection. we have not attained perfection. If anything ye be otherwise minded. If ye think that ye are perfect. God shall reveal even this unto you. Such cases are turned over to God. There are three stages of perfection: First, there is positional perfection or justification (Heb10:14; Col2:10). Secondly, there is progressive perfection, or sanctification (2Cor7:1; Eph4:11-12; Gal3:3). Thirdly, there is ultimate perfection in heaven, or glorification (Eph5:27; 1Jn3:1-2). The Philippians were not all mature; some were satisfied with low attainment and others with a medium attainment. But Paul says God will reveal this to them. (King James Bible Commentary, Edward E. Roustio, Th.D. )

    16. Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule. We need to continue in the same straight path in which we have been walking, guided by the same divine truths and the unchanging principles of faith. We need to hold on to what we have and then strive to go higher. 17. Brethren, be followers together of me. Keep on becoming imitators together of me. Paul is asking them to mimic his good example. Paul lived Christ and Paul preached Christ. It was on this basis that Paul told the Philippians to imitate him (1Cor11:1). And mark them which walk so as ye have us for an example. Observe attentively and follow them as a pattern or model. Paul says keep your eye on your guide. (King James Bible Commentary, Edward E. Roustio, Th.D. )

Yes, I get the 4 posts of hatred comin' through.

But, the most important verses are 18 and 19.

Too bad your reference was trained in some cemetary, er ... seminary.
My reference was trained by the Spirit.
Der's a huge difference, my boy ... a huge difference.

    18. For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping. Paul had warned them repeatedly even weeping in deep emotion as he warned them of the enemy. That they are the enemies of the cross of Christ. Paul was not talking about erring Christians, but non-Christians. He referred to the anti-legalist, those who were a law unto themselves. They confessed Christ with their lips, but denied Christ with their lives. They taught and practiced loose living; they confused liberty with license. They taught freedom from sin, but really meant freedom to sin. They were religious and made pretense of piety, but they denied the cross, loved the world, and lived after the flesh. (King James Bible Commentary, Edward E. Roustio, Th.D. )

    19. Whose end is destruction. Paul now gives us a description of the enemies of the cross. Paul states the plain, terrible fact that their end is doom and destruction, eternal ruin from the presence of God (2Thess1:9). They do not realize that they are on the road to hell. Whose God is their belly. They admit of no one higher than themselves, and they worship themselves. they live for self-indulgence, for comfort, and for convenience. And whose glory is in their shame. Their glory is their shamelessless conduct. they boast of liberty, yet are slaves to Satan, sin, and self. Who mind earthly things. They are living for this world only. They are completely occupied with the material, not the spiritual; with the earthly, not the heavenly. (King James Bible Commentary, Edward E. Roustio, Th.D. )

It is easy to observe a spirit of evil which has bewitched you, it has a hold on you. There is nothing hateful about the commentary I posted, the god of this world is blinding you, or maybe your own prideful, stony heart.

I have not witnessed evidence of the Holy Spirit in any of your post thus far, mostly a spirit of antichrist is what comes through. I have some Pentecostal friends and relatives, and none of them act like you do. I'm not sure what congregation puts up with your "all about me" attitude, but I know the churches I know would not have you in any position of authority, maybe even need to put you out of fellowship until you repent.

Again, the hatred is plainly evident to see ... how dare anyone come in here
and upset Sleaver and his pet doctrines, which threaten his very salvation!

General statement from a moderator elsewhere ...
"By outright attacking another member's beliefs in their interpretation of,
and understanding of Christianity, you are attacking that person.
You are attacking that person inasmuch as their beliefs
contribute greatly to who they are as people."

Yes, it appears that some Christians just cannot handle correction.

Is this your way of admitting what you have been doing to Christians here, and admitting you do not like the correction that has been given to you and this is why you attack?? Well, the first step towards full repentance is being willing to admit your actions. Let's see if it progresses to repentance to salvation not to be repented of. :praying:
