I have enough Biblical studies, theology, apologetics, and Christian living books so I am looking for new suggestions, but from a christian worldview. Perhaps history books, contemporary issues, sociology, or the like.

I have David Wells's No Place for Truth which is a history book that I may read if its good. Is it? I also have Lutzer's Hitler's Cross which appears to be a contemporary issues or history book which I also may read if its good. Is it? Note I need no health or nutrition books as most speak from a New Age Perspective.

    Have any good books?

Break Out by Joel Osteen?
Seriously though, what about A history of the Jewish people in the time of Christ by Emil Schürer
Or for church history, History of the Christian church by Phillip Schaff?

It's a very large book but it's about Deitrich Bohnhoeffer, a young pastor during WW2. He was eventually executed for being part of a plot to kill Hitler. It's VERY interesting and well written and I highly recommend it if you're looking for a good book to read while you sit inside and keep warm this winter! Or if you are going to sit on the beach next summer. Or if you want to read it ANYTIME! :D

David Wells is excellent, as is the big biography of Bonhoeffer by Metaxis.

Sydney Ahlstrom's A Religious History of the American People, look for it in used book venues like amazon and bookfinder or ebay.

Wells is one of my favorites. No Place for Truth is excellent (sparked The Cambridge Declaration), but I liked God in the Wasteland (which was more of a continuation) better.

excellent book, as Dr Schaffer shows us how much of a folly it is to have culture and socierty that has departed from God really is!
