So many on this board act as though they have no sin, or at least they act as though the sin they are guilty of isn't as important as maybe those adulterers, fornicators or homosexuals!

I hope, because a poll allows you to remain anonymous, that a ton of you will be candid enough to let your hair down and share, truthfully, that which seems to have you shackled at times!

Most of sins used in the poll taken from Romans 1:28-32 (TLB), "So it was that when they gave God up and would not even acknowledge him, God gave them up to doing everything their evil minds could think of. Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness and sin, of greed and hate, envy, murder, fighting, lying, bitterness, and gossip. They were backbiters, haters of God, insolent, proud, braggarts, always thinking of new ways of sinning and continually being disobedient to their parents. They tried to misunderstand, broke their promises, and were heartless—without pity. They were fully aware of God’s death penalty for these crimes, yet they went right ahead and did them anyway and encouraged others to do them, too." Were you aware, that the sins you commit can serve to encourage others to do likewise?

And Galations 5:19-21 (TLB), "But when you follow your own wrong inclinations, your lives will produce these evil results: impure thoughts, eagerness for lustful pleasure, idolatry, spiritism (that is, encouraging the activity of demons), hatred and fighting, jealousy and anger, constant effort to get the best for yourself, complaints and criticisms, the feeling that everyone else is wrong except those in your own little group—and there will be wrong doctrine, envy, murder, drunkenness, wild parties, and all that sort of thing. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God."

Maybe you are referring to me as I said in another post, blessed is the man in whom the Lord will not impute sin, and when God views us, He only see's us in his Son. This is our standing in Christ, We as Christians have the righteousness of Christ and not our own. I view myself as nothing but sin in the flesh and I don't glory in this for one second, I believe this is why Job said, I will be satisfied when I awake in His likeness. I have noticed all these threads dealing with individual sins in a Christians life. I would be a most miserable person if I dwelt on my sin's all the time. When I came to realize that Christ was my salvation and not does and don't it made me rest in Him. It is very important for a Christian or any one else to realize that Christ came into this world to save sinners, not good people in their own minds. Once when Satan was buffeting Martin Luther in his mind and saying, you can not be saved, look at your life, you're nothing but a sinner. Martin Luther replied as he threw the ink well at him, yes, I am a sinner but Christ Jesus came into this world to save sinners, and the devil fleed from him.

I picked all but fornification, drunkenness, and spiritualism. I don't think it really matters as James says:

    James 2:10 ESV
For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become accountable for all of it.
    And
    Romans 3:23
For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.
I'm surprised you feel this way, I have only experienced the opposite here on BB, granted I haven't been here long.
Thank you for the poll, it's always good to remember we are all sinners saved by grace!:godisgood:

    ...silly wabbits! :wavey:

No one is exempt from sinning but we all know that. I realize it. Hey, if I can see it how come so many others can't? ...some people are just plain weird. Or wired. Which is it?

I have a sneaking suspicion that this thread will have 12 posts and 1200 views.

A killer job for sure. Look at it this way. Some people deserve to be hated? Being hated makes them stand out in their community. :tongue3:

Anger, lacking patience, getting frustrated and saying things I should not, and also envy/coveting. Often I want this or I want that and lack contentment. Also sometimes I do not think Biblically.

This is a good thread. Also to note lots of books out there on this topic. Changed into His Image by Jim Berg is a good one. Although Arminian he still writes well and does a great job.

I did that job for 5 years. At first I was very angry mad, and such. Eventually I got used to it, but it took awhile. I have not done this type of job in 7 years and if I did it again would be a rookie.

    :)

Thanks ... I felt it would be good to take poll on the sins that are troublesome to us! If we were all honest, we'd never ignore that while undergoing construction, there will be areas still needing work!

None of us are ever finished growing. If we are we are only fooling ourselves, or dead!

I've always had a tendency to find something to get obsessed with, and that in my heart becomes more important to me than anything else. When I was a kid it was dogs. Later on it got to be fandoms, like for one example Star Wars.

I'm not telling. My children think I'm perfect, and I want to keep it that way.

My beloved wife knows better, but she took me for better, for worse, so she's stuck with me.

Which reminds me of a story: A former Congressman friend of mine related that when he was practicing law, a woman came to him to help her divorce her husband.

He said, "As a Christian, I thought I'd at least try to see if there's some way the marriage could be saved. So, I asked her 'didn't you take him for richer, for poorer, for better, for worse?'"

She answered "Yep, I did. But he was poorer and worser than I took him for."

My biggest problem area to get victory over is myself, my own desire, seeking to fulfill what I want instread of the will of God at any given point in time!

Gues making my own will and desires my idol....

    Anger

Anger is my most difficult sin to avoid.

However, high on the list is the desire for sexual adventure. Happily I'm in a position where I don't have much opportunity lately, but the desire is still there.

I expect to be done with both when I die. And in the meantime, God deals with me and forgives me as I confess it. I am sinless, but only in the sense that is how God sees me through the blood of Jesus. Good for me that's the only view that really counts.

I think we should all remember as Christians whether we are guilty of committing one sin or the other, in the flesh we are still capable of committing every sin in the book except sinning against the Holy Ghost. There goes me, but by the grace of God.
