Inerrancy 'drift' festers in Christian academia

    ....When asked about how such strong stances on biblical inerrancy affect the idea of academic freedom in higher education, the panelists said true academic freedom is a false notion.

    "It's not academic freedom in the way it's advertised," Wills said. "Academic freedom, as it has developed in the American university system, is one that was designed deliberately for the toleration of leftward views on the faculty of all sorts. Some of those things turned out for good because they were things that needed to be done, but there was a lot of damaging error that came in at the same time. Don't buy the advertisement that it's some kind of neutral freedom."

    As the article states, it is important for the solidly grounded proponents of biblical inerrancy to engage the error, publish against it, speak against it, and have an impact for good on the whole of the evangelical movement.

    Just curious to how many "big name" seminaries within Chrsitiandom chose to follow example of Fuller decades ago, and go to the limited inerrant view on the scriptures?

    No clue, and no interest. If they aren't willing to preach total inerrancy, I'm not interested in them.

    they hold to the concept of the bible being infallible when it describes spiritual things, such as Jesus deatrh, resurrection, Virgin Birth etc, but that they also hold to it having errors in historical accounts, names, events etc, as God intended it to speak perfectly regarding spiritual items, others not so much!
