A mistake that men often make is that it matters what we agree upon. God said it. End of story. Truth isn't based in what we believe or agree upon.

So if I agree that Jesus is God and you don't (hypothetically) we're still brothers?

Jesus being God doesn't need your agreement. The truth ain't changing because you believe something else.

Not what I asked, is it?

The question was, If we disagree about the nature and character of God, are we brothers, as in believing in the same Christ?

So if culture says something that God calls evil is now good, such as abortion, and even churchs split on that issue, we should just say God is right, yet allow everyone to have their own truth views?

    Postmoderism?

Y1, just how do you propose to prevent anyone from their own definition of truth?

Only God can do that, but main point trying to make is that would explain why Zaac seems so reluctant to have Chrsitians engage in political/cultural issues, for God standard always stays same, true, but we still need to earnestrly contend for the faith in both spiritual andother areas!

We preach the Gospel NOW and folks still have their own beliefs. There doesn't have to be any consensus about the truth. God is God ALONE. He says what the truth is. The End.

Should we try at least to have a govt and a culture and a Church that reflects real christian morals and standards, or at least influence them?

I accept the ages of the people as listed in Genesis.

As to the thread drift, two thoughts: No, Christians have no special right to make all the rules and cause culture to conform to them. BUT--we have the responsibility to take the gospel to the world. The more saved people there are, the more a culture changes in positive ways. So if you want less of the rampant sin and degradation we see today, don't focus so much on being the morals police and more on evangelization.

Which in the long run, gets us where the morals police rightly want us to go anyway.

the longest who ever lived was methuselah it reminds us how long GOD showed his patience to the sinful people to know GOD thru the family of NOAH. It is also interesting to note that methuselah means "you're death will bring judgement", just few week before methuselah died GOD sent the flood.

I believe there is enough here that we can write a book and some would still not understand it. The fact is, it is mostly guess work even for the most knowledgeable. Never the less, this is my opinion.

Before the flood God strove with man. This means He tried very hard to communicate to man the right way. At that time man did not have to answer for his sinful ways so in essense it was easier to live longer.

Then after the flood man has had to reap as he sows. He began eating animal flesh for the first time Those who were not of the line from Adam (The line of Cain for example) had eaten meat before the flood. Because of this all wild animals feared and dreaded man and God said that the blood of every animal as well as the blood of man will be required at the hand of man.

In Genesis 1:26-29 God made man in His image (Spiritual) and in the second chapter man was made in God's likeness (flesh and blood).

The truth is we are very powerful spiritual beings and we need only follow Jesus' commandments and suggestions to make that determination.

Just a suggestion but it is not necessary to give your exact address in your profile. This is displayed in the upper right corner of your posts and there for all the world to see.

I have to say I have never heard this position you are espousing here. It is very interesting. I disagree with it but it is interesting.
