I would guess that if there is anything that a true believer gets tired of it is battling their own sin. While we do not practice sin we still have to battle the flesh. We are certainly holy in position because of Christ, but do you think that we will ever be holy like God is holy in application or will we have to battle sin for eternity and be forgiven through out eternity and only be holy in position?
    NAS 1Peter 1:16
You shall be holy for I am holy.

As Jesus is, we shall be also, when he appears and we see Him again!

being glorified means to me that we shall be once again sinless natured, morally perfect agents, as fleash and sin destroyed/remade into very Image of Jesus perfectly!

This command was originally given here in Lev.19...so that the people would live holy now in this life.....the whole chapter can be found in eph 4/5 and romans 12...so we would live holy now also:thumbsup:

19 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

2 Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the Lord your God am holy.

3 Ye shall fear every man his mother, and his father, and keep my sabbaths: I am the Lord your God.

4 Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am the Lord your God.

5 And if ye offer a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the Lord, ye shall offer it at your own will.

6 It shall be eaten the same day ye offer it, and on the morrow: and if ought remain until the third day, it shall be burnt in the fire.

7 And if it be eaten at all on the third day, it is abominable; it shall not be accepted.

8 Therefore every one that eateth it shall bear his iniquity, because he hath profaned the hallowed thing of the Lord: and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.

9 And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleanings of thy harvest.

10 And thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather every grape of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and stranger: I am the Lord your God.

11 Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another.

12 And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the Lord.

13 Thou shalt not defraud thy neighbour, neither rob him: the wages of him that is hired shall not abide with thee all night until the morning.

14 Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind, but shalt fear thy God: I am the Lord.

15 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.

16 Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour; I am the Lord.

17 Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.

18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the Lord.

19 Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled seed: neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woollen come upon thee.

20 And whosoever lieth carnally with a woman, that is a bondmaid, betrothed to an husband, and not at all redeemed, nor freedom given her; she shall be scourged; they shall not be put to death, because she was not free.

21 And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the Lord, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, even a ram for a trespass offering.

22 And the priest shall make an atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering before the Lord for his sin which he hath done: and the sin which he hath done shall be forgiven him.

23 And when ye shall come into the land, and shall have planted all manner of trees for food, then ye shall count the fruit thereof as uncircumcised: three years shall it be as uncircumcised unto you: it shall not be eaten of.

24 But in the fourth year all the fruit thereof shall be holy to praise the Lord withal.

25 And in the fifth year shall ye eat of the fruit thereof, that it may yield unto you the increase thereof: I am the Lord your God.

26 Ye shall not eat any thing with the blood: neither shall ye use enchantment, nor observe times.

27 Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard.

28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Lord.

29 Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness.

30 Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the Lord.

31 Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God.

32 Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the Lord.

33 And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him.

34 But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.

35 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in meteyard, in weight, or in measure.

36 Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall ye have: I am the Lord your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt.

37 Therefore shall ye observe all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: I am the Lord.

I've asked this question, to no avail, for years. If no sin can enter heaven, how on earth does a Christian ever enter?

After all, it's taught that we are righteous in position only. But covered sin is still sin. And no sin will enter, whether it's "covered" or not. Jesus came with a better covenant than the mere covering of bulls and goats.

The blood of Christ cleanses us from sin. He has perfected us for all time. How in the world could that be? It's called regeneration. If your righteousness goes no further than imputation, then you will not enter heaven.

You must be literally without sin, or you will not enter in.

The Covenant death of Jesus applies His perfection to all of the elect. His active obedience is actually graced to us. We are made perfect in Union with Him.

We have Christ righteousness imputed to the believer so that when God looks at us He only see's his Son.

Try running that one past Hebrews 9-10. His death is not a covering, whereby a sinner is merely clothed in a foreign righteousness. Bulls and goats were provided as a covering. What you're missing is the scapegoat. The sins of the people were symbolically placed on its head, and the goat carried them away.

THAT was a symbol, finally realized in Christ.

    More bible, less Mac

Hebrews 9 and 10 teach the truth of Particular redemption. In chap 9 we are told the redemption is actually accomplished:

    11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;

12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

    and here;
23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:

    25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;

26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

notice...he appears as an advocate for us...the elect...

9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:

    12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.

14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

Heaven is a condition, not a place. The place may be anywhere so long as the condition of Heaven is within. Luke 17:21 Jesus makes our position very clear but man prefers to follow Paul. Maybe it is comfort in numbers as in 1st Thessalonians 5:19.

Yes I was aware of that passaage, but in the NT we are also commanded to be holy so are we to also keep the commandments to be holy? Also will we have to battle sin in eternity or will there be no temptations?

That is positional righteousness. What about practical holiness?

So are you saying we have to live sinless to get into heaven?

If you mean behavioral holiness, then no.
But "positional" holiness falls well short, too.

This is one of the biggest failures of Reformed theology. It reduces regeneration to a subjective change in disposition, and leaves a sinner struggling to muster some semblance of holiness.

But scripture is very clear that regeneration is a washing away of sin, then we are sealed.

There is also a very clear distinction between the spirit and the flesh. Our spirit is washed clean, never to sin again, when we are born again. The inner man. 100% holy, righteous and sinless upon conversion byway of being recreated.

Our body, however, is still stricken with the disease of sin. In the resurrection, our body will be recreated sinless.

When we die, we put off the carnal flesh, and all that's left is the sinless inner man. That's why to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. We step out of this body of death into the presence of Christ.

I'm sort of hurrying through this right now, gotta get myself to work. But after bible study tonight, I'll present it more clearly, with scripture references

Back to the question. Do you believe that we will feel temptation in heaven, and to still have a need for the blood of Christ being applied to us or will that all be over?

The practical side of this is once a Christian realizes his position in Christ it brings on a love for practical righteousness because of such a great love that Christ bestowed on us. And even though in the flesh we fall many times, our hearts goes out to God and our great longing is to finally be done with sin. The legalist depends on keeping the law to take away sin, the believer knows the righteousness of Christ has taken away his sin, and in this he is satisfied. Christ is our salvation period.

I would hope so but I do not know. Holy angles evidently can or at least did at one time suffer temptation since some of them fell and they did that in heaven.

if we shall be as he now is in moral perfection, how we can there be any temtation remaining, as our sin natures been thrown off us, and have fully the mind of Christ then? Fully in presense of God?

The angels that fell were non elect, in 1 Tim 5:21 I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ and the elect angels. All are either elect or non elect, even Christ; 1 Pet 2:6 Behold I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
