What are your views of Eschatology?

    What exactly is Historicism?

I hold, loosely, to covenant theology, and firmly to a historical premillennialist eschatology with a historicist-futurist read of Revelation and no belief in a tribulation period.

It is, in a very simple and far too concise definition, the reading of Revelation that understands part, or the whole, to be a historical recasting of events that have taken place in the economy of salvation history that circle around the story of the Cross and the redemption of Jesus Christ.

Certainly, others can improve upon this. :)

You are so close to Amilism... just jump in... the water is FINE!

Once you get rid of the tribulation, the next and last step is to throw out the millenium. Then you have Jesus returning and eternity. Hmmm... how long will it take considering 7 years have already been removed from your eschatology to get rid of the last 1,000?

I had a friend who described himself as a "Pan-Millenialist."

It's all going to Pan out in the end.

I am adamantly premil, pre trib. None of the verses in the Bible give a clear picture to any of the possibilities, but this is the most likely given the supporting evidence from Daniel.

So, you're "adamant" about something, but you don't know why?

First, it is none of your business. To give one verse, Rev 4:1 says come up hither, and after that, the church is never seen. Why would someone who has no idea what they are talking about ask me that?

Will a dispensationalist please rebuke this interpretation? It would be better if it came from you... who claim to interpret literally... where the "come up hither" was said to an individual... not a community of believers.

Then why did you bring it up???

Maybe they want to talk to a like minded person.

Look buster, you are not going to treat me like the others you talk to. If you have nothing positive to say, then say nothing.

I see. And would you be willing to follow your own advice? How many of your posts to me and to other posters have been positive?

    This is getting more comical.

    "buster"?

I'm curious... how do you make your threat stick in an open forum?

Love of the brethren, though... good on ya.
